diary entry #1
My name is Sky Preston and before I get to the tragic scene unwinding in my bedroom right now, I think I should introduce you to myself and my oh so big family.
Let me take you to the parking lot of Eastview High. It's the best place for you to get a good look into my life.
Take a look to the left, where all the teachers park their cars. Most of them aren't important but you see that group of five, standing by the black minivan? They're the ones I want you to pay attention to.
You see that short, blonde haired, blue eyed woman that has the annoyed look on her face? That's Mrs. Walton. Or as I know her, my older sister Summer. While she prefers to go by Mrs. Preston, most of us know her by Mrs. Walton because her husband loves to annoy her and introduce her with his last name. She's one of the school's theatre teachers.
Summer went to school to become a director, so she focuses more on that part of theatre than acting. She made it pretty big actually, so we were all surprised when she came back to Eastview to teach. She directed dozens of Off-Broadway musicals, 3 Broadway musicals and 2 blockbuster films. One of those films she was nominated for an academy award but lost to John Ford.
She's always been an amazing and protective big sister. Always there to give me and my siblings advice even while she was on set in Hollywood or New York. I was so happy when she moved back to our little town.
Across from her, the brunette guy with the annoying laugh that you can hear all the way over here and the dad bod is her husband and my brother-in-law, Tony. One of the school's football coaches. I've known him my entire life and I still don't understand how Summer can deal with his annoyance. Him and Eric are always making it a point to tease me here at school and I am this close to beating one of them up! Tony made it into the NFL after college and played 4 seasons before suffering a head injury that left him in a coma for 3 months. He retired immediately after seeing the terrified looks on Summer and their four kids faces.
That leads us to the over muscular, balding guy that is his best friend and my oldest brother, Eric. While all of my brothers and brothers-in-law (minus Devin and Benjamin) are absolutely annoying, Eric is the worst. While I love him and I wouldn't trade him for anyone else in the world, he is annoying. Top tier annoying. To threatening detention whenever I call him out on his annoyingness to laughing at me during cheer practice. But I am proud of him. He struggled a lot to support his family when I was younger but when I was in middle school, Coach Kenneth, god rest his soul, got him this job as coach. And he loves it. Almost as much as he loves the woman standing next to Summer.
Marilyn Gomez. The absolute goddess that is the school's other theatre teacher. Every girl wants to be her, and every boy wants to be with her. I mean look at her. She's nearly 40 but she still looks like she's in her 20's. Her glossy black hair and make up that looks like she just walked off the red carpet. She's amazing. I remember when I was 13, I tried to dye my hair the same color and it came out atrocious.
Marilyn did pretty good for herself as well. Starred in 2 Broadway plays and one of Summer's blockbusters. She retired professional acting after she miscarried her and Eric's 4th child... She almost died. And that made her realize that she only needed her family. Remembering that... it hurts because while I know they had been through it before, I had never seen them so... broken. But let's not get into depressing tales from my family's past...
The last sibling, I would like to introduce you to his the blonde haired woman that is facing away from us. You probably had to do a double take because she looks exactly like Summer from behind... and in front. That's my older sister May. The cheerleading coach! I think I'm closest with May since we spend a lot of time together because I'm on the cheer squad. She's been the cheer coach since she graduated college.
