"..race you to the lake!" Sarah yelled while trying to catch her breathe.

"You're on! Let's see if you can keep up" I said getting a head start.

The lake was only 2 blocks away from my house. Sarah and I take the woods as a easy shortcut, it leads right into the lake. It was my neighborhoods hotspot! You would almost see everyone and the people who weren't there were probably out of town still.

"Ha! I officially won this race. Start calling me Lighting McQueen" I said trying to catch my breathe.

"The only thing I'm calling you is dumbass, now let's go" Sarah said making her way to the big clear lake.

Sarah was one of those types of girls. You know, independent and doesn't need a guy to hold her down. She was really popular and extremely pretty but never dated anyone from our school. We meet when I accidentally threw a pencil and instead of hitting the wall in the my teachers head. Sarah busted out laughing and we both was sent to the principle and that's were it all began, but that's another story. Anyways, she's very chill and one of the best artist I have ever seen.

"Kingmen, get in the water or were leaving!" she yelled trying to not get her hair wet.

I started my way down to the lake but then accident tripped and landed face front in the sand. As you can tell I wasn't very smooth. I managed to pull myself off the ground and dust most of the wet sand off my body. I ran and jumped in by Sarah. Now, let me say that was the biggest mistake of my life. Her hair got more the wet and lost her glasses. After that, she didn't talk to me for the rest of the day. I tried not to make a whole deal of our her not talking to me for a whole day, I had bigger issues. The first day of school was coming and there's was no slowing it down. Instantly when I said that in my head I felt my heart shatter to little bits.

"Kingmen, are you riding the bus in the morning. Tell me your riding the bus in the morning!" she said very fast and forcefully.

"Yeah, I'm going to text you and make sure to tell me what your wearing" I shudder.

"Yeah man okay cool" she said in a deep mocking voice

Sarah and I tend to try and match on somedays. We were like that, best friends. Somedays I would try to plan out with her then totally wear something different, then I always wonder why she is always mad at me.
