Life is never easy. At some point both Lagertha and John had to fall to the bottom, to realize, what would they lose, if they left each other. The other half of their heart and soul.

He would probably drink himself to death in some filthy brothel and Lagertha with broken heart would cry for him for the rest of her life. Because there was no other man like John and no other woman like Lagertha.

Their son grew stronger every day. They both would say, that raising child and taking care of him, was one of the happuest, yet challenging and hardest times of their life.

Nights, when little boy cried with no end. John, nervous and mumbling left many times to sleep to barn, so he could with heavy heart and shame return back in few minutes.  To find Lagertha crying with a baby. Because life is not a fairy tale and babies cry and don't sleep. And mothers cry with them and fathers need break.

Once they realised it, they accepted every side of parenthood. From cries to swifts of moods. Still it was never easy, but at least John came to realize, that sometimes Lagertha cried only to let out all the stress and Lagertha never bragged about times, when John left to find his peace in forests.

In the end they became even stronger and their blessed child made them to be only happy. The moment little boy stopped search Lagertha's presence during nights, John made a special carrier from ling scarf and took his son for the first time for a hunt. For three days they were gone and when they came back, Lagertha couldn't tell, whose eyes shone more from excitement.

Maybe it was a hint of pride of his son in John's eyes. Yes, little boy, who even though first night sobbed a little under the tent in wilderness, he found shelter and peace in his father's arms and almost refused to leave back home.

Yes, Silla made them both to be proud. He was smart, strong and beautiful. Wild, yet not rude. Dream of every parent.

When he reached 5 years, John decided to take him for a winter hunt. Even though Lagertha was worried, the trust she had for John helped her to overcome fear. With tears in her eyes, she said goodbye to her boys. Husband and son.

Then few months later with a great fortune and smiles on their faces, John and Silla came back.

And John's smile froze and was replaced with eyes wide open and dropped jaw.

"Welcome home, my loves," Lagertha with bright smile welcomed them. And she wasn't alone. Under her heart she carried a child. Child, that started to kick, when John with Silla approached, like it felt them. Like a blood called for its blood, heart felt its other half.

It was a beautiful spring day, when Lagertha gave birth to second son. Noah was born and he got a name by his calm deep blue eyes, that looked at them with all the peace and wisdom of the world, baby could carry.

They lived under the midnight Alaskan sun. Happily ever after, even though they many times struggled in the heart of the crulest winter. But Lagertha made sure, the fire was burning in the fireplace and she warmed her  family with words and affection and John protect his family with every single breath he took. For there was nothing more than this.

Family.
