"Nothing, he just gave me a ride home." I replied to my slightly insane brother.
"You drove your car to school today, leaving me here with mom and dad, with no transportation to leave, and now you say you left it in the school parking lot just because you were so stupid you had to ride home with your boyfriend?" He shouted at me and I almost instantly felt guilty. It wouldn't have been as bad if our parents weren't home, however since they were I could only imagine what they could have done to Alec in the eight hours that I was gone.
"Are they still here?" I asked and he shook his head in response.
I opened my mouth to ask if he was alright when he beat me to it and said "I'm fine dont worry. We just need to go get your car from the school."
It was about a five minute walk to school so we started walking as soon as Alec got his shoes on.
Ten minutes later we pulled into the driveway and we were walking up the steps to the house when Alec, who had driven the car, started frantically looking through his pockets.
"Shit. Shit fucking dicks." He muttered before sighing and dropping his head in defeat.
"The house keys are on the counter." He said. And my keys were in my backpack. On the kitchen table.
Well fuck.
"Are there any unlocked windows?" Alec asked and I thought for a minute.
"Mine is unlocked, but I don't know how we would get to it." I said, seeing as how my room is on the second floor.
"You could stand on my shoulders." He said, "See if maybe you were meant to be a cheerleader instead of playing volleyball."
"Oh god I'm gonna die." I muttered as I swayed back and forth on Alec's shoulders.
"Just open your damn window and climb in before my shoulders are crushed." Alec said loudly and I reached up for my window, my fingers just barely grazed my window sill before I felt myself loosing my balance and jumped as best I could and found myself dangling from my window by just my fingers.
"Howdy neighbor!" I heard someone shout from behind me.
"Blake." Alec spat from below me.
"I wouldn't be so angry with me Allyboy, not when I could possibly get a ladder for your dear sister so she doesn't fall and end her volleyball career." Blake said almost teasingly.
"Blake get the damn ladder." I shouted at him as I adjusted my grip.
"But you know who I am right?" He asked rhetorically. "I am the infamous Blake Greenwalt. I do not take rejection kindly." He said.
"Are you serious?! You're bringing this up now?!" I shouted at him.
"Yes I am." He said. "Go out with me and I'll get you a ladder."
Now it was Alec's turn to shout at Blake.
"My sister is about to fall from a second story window and all you care about is if she will go out with you for a fucking bet?!" He practically screamed.
Wait, a bet?
"Yes I am." He said. "You of all people should know that I don't deny a bet."
What is that supposed to mean?
"Just get the damn ladder Blake." I shouted at him.
"Will you go out with me?" He asked and I growled under my breath.
"Fine!" I shouted. "Now get the stupid thing!"
Not a minute later he was setting up the lader underneath me and I was soon standing thankfully on the top rung of it opening my window then climbing inside my room with Alec following.
Once we were both in my room I leaned out my window and waved at Blake then thanked him and told him he could leave, but to not expect me to be going on a date with him any time soon. Or anytime ever.
"Why is it that you guys hate each other so much?" I asked Alec and he rolled his eyes.
"You know exactly why." He growled.
"Actually I don't, you guys used to be really good friends, so tell me what happened or I will go out with him for real." I said and he immediately stiffened.
"Well if you have to know, I hate him because I found out about the 'games' they play." He said and I motioned for him to elaborate.
"Him and his friends bet each other on if they can take a girl's virginity by a certain time. Jaxon Braze bet Blake that he couldn't get with you by the end of school for 500 bucks."
"What the hell?!" I shouted. "Is that what they did to Katherine?!"
"Yeah probably." He said and I stood up quickly from my bed.
"I'm gonna murder that bastard!" I shouted and I ran out of the house to his house and started banging on the front door of his house.
"Blake Greenwalt I am going to kill you!" I shouted at the door.
Just as I was about to continue slamming my palm on the door, it swung open revealing a glaring Blake with a black eye.
"What the hell happened to you?" I asked before remembering what I was there for.
"Nevermind, I don't care. Cause I'm gonna kill you anyway. I can't believe you do that to girls." I shouted at him.
"Blake!" A man shouted from a couple rooms over and Blake winced. He then lightly pushed me a step back as he stepped out onto the porch, quietly closing the door behind him.
"Do what to girls?" He asked, completely oblivious.
"You place bets on who can sleep with a certain girl first." I spat.
"Ok, I'm not gonna lie to you." He said before continuing, "I have done that, but you're different. I mean you kicked me in the dick, I can't say many girls have done that to me. So will you please forgive me?" He asked and I weighed the pro's and con's in my head before finally noodding.
"What happened to your eye though?" I asked and his eyes narrowed.
"Nothing." He said darkly, then brightened up. "I'll pick you up at eight." He said with a smile.
"O-" I started but was cut off when the door swung open and a man with dark brown hair and buldging biceps grabbed Blake by the back of his neck and almost dragged him into the house.
"Who's this pretty girlie?" He said. His intoxicated breath flying through the air and assaulting my nose.
"Get out of here." Blake whispered quickly.
The man retaliated to that by slamming Blake to the ground.
"Oh my-" I started but was cut off by Blake.
"Leave Christina I'll be fine." He said before the door was slammed in my face.
