I've been asked by a friend about how to get people to read your work. So I thought I'd share some thoughts I had with you.
Read. Other. Writer's. Books.
Learn from them. Study them. Yes.
BUT ALSO:
SHARE THEM. TALK ABOUT THEM. You'll make friendships and build communities around these stories. Communities that SHARE YOUR INTERESTS. You'll build a support network, a cheer squad, and an audience all at once!
Building the success and readership of YOUR stories has a lot to do with how much love you put out there for other people's stories. If you aren't participating in what's going on in the genre and literary spaces you love, how can you expect you and your writing to be welcomed into them?
And that doesn't just apply to Wattpad. It applies to traditional publishing too! Share what you're reading. Boost new releases. And follow others who are sharing their work and their favourite books.
