Anyway, we're going aloooonnng! Sara Chidouin will essentially be 'replaced' by you, the reader. It fits with the whole '20 participants', no? Odd numbers are so ugly.
Also, I'll be using she/her pronouns. Sorry.
Your warnings: Basically, all the content warnings that are already contained within YTTD. Alright? I probably won't go too graphic, but who knoooowwwss? Not you!
Also, you probably know all the basic acronyms for a reader fic, so I won't explain them.

A pair ran desperately down a corridor, fleeing from something unseen.
The dimly-lit hall had an oppressive air. It was dusty, with cobwebs littered at the ceilings, signifying its lessor importance. Usually, even if a place wasn't well travelled, the grounds would be spotless. A true testament towards ASUNARO's budget, especially with how 'high-class' everything was within the building. Yet, it was currently their only lifeline within sight.
The 'leader' pulled back the 'loner', and pulled them over to the side, signaling a break. They rested against walls with peeling wallpaper, yellowed in age.
"Is this nightmare ever going to be over?" they asked, panting.
"No, I suppose not. Not until there's only one of us left."
"Is there really no other choice?"
The other person didn't respond.
"That's.. what I'm afraid of.."
"Don't worry about it... okay? I'll.. make sure that you'll win."
"What about you?!"
"It doesn't matter."
"Even.. after.. ?"
"Haha, I've really switched around from the 0.0% narrative, haven't I?"

(Y/N) turned around the corner, making her way towards her home. School was out today, but once she got home, she'd have to complete her homework and start prepping for dinner. They had a test coming up too, and groceries were running low as well, she mused.
The sun was going down, emitting a luminous golden light which reflected on store windows, almost blinding (Y/N). She's gone down this route quite a few times, but the view never got old, often a mystical mix of colours - looking as if the children of shining yellow, pink, and peach came together to play in the sky above. Their playdates didn't last long, but (Y/N) was happy to just be there in the moment.
No matter how earthly it was, the sky looked as if it was hand sculpted with care in every dispersed cloud - but not by humans, never. By someone otherworldly.
(Y/N) pulled out her phone, and took a picture. Joe would love this, she thought. She smiled at it, before returning her gaze to the street.
The walk seems to be taking longer than usual... Time was stretching on and on.
She pulled out her phone, fumbling over different social apps, before begrudgingly pulling up a map to ease her rising anxiety. I take this route almost everyday, it's fine.. (Y/N) was probably imagining it.
