Chapter 2

I opened my eyes to the beautiful France sunrise. It was my last day here, the inevitable had come. Tomorrow I would be in Vermont, a place unknown. I was in rush to see Leo, when I hit him with my leaving he would do everything he could to stop me, which would only anger my brothers more. I walked to my bathroom, took a shower, got ready, and headed out the door.

"You almost here... I'm waiting in our spot"

He still has feelings for me, and I was about to break my best friends heart all over again.

"Yea.. about 2 mins away" I replied

I took my time walking to the cafe, I was in not the best mental state to face him, but I had to, I had to say I was sorry and Goodbye. I continued walking when I turned the corner their he was, his dirty blonde hair, and his adorable smile, often was I complimented him most on. He looked so cute today, and I kinda regret not giving him a chance, but it was too late to pursue anything.

"Natalia! You look beautiful, I missed us, missed you." He gushed.

I knew what he was trying to do, what he wanted. But we would never work, in about less than 10 mins I would break his heart and leave for good. I needed to see him, give him closure.

"Thanks Leo....I've missed seeing you too, but we should really talk, I can't stay long".

"Yea yea I wanna talk too, but you're staring to worry me nat" he said.

It was getting silent, I should just rip the bandaid off. I can't spend my last day here feeling like I didn't get any closure to him. Here goes nothing.

"Leo...we're leaving today, not just a holiday trip, but for good, to our dads. Max and Gabe contacted Richard and now he has partial custody over us, so I won't see you until next summer." The words practically fell out of my mouth. But hey better now then just disappearing on Leo. His expression quickly changed he seemed angry, his eyes narrowed and he frowned.

"Wow Nat, out of all the excuses you could make up, that was the best one you could come up with ?!? If you didn't want to pursue anything with me and Basically led me on for our entire friendship now to just ghost me!!!! I mean really so typical". He roared

Did he really just say that??? To me to my face? The audacity.
He KNEW I didn't feel the same way, their was NO a spark he was just my BEST FRIEND. And his attitude was starting to piss me off and to top it all off he accused me of lying ?!?

"Okay woah first of all Leo, you KNOW I did not lead you on like that, secondly, you know max and Gabe practically BEAT your ass for even saying you liked me, so maybe I should I have brought them along because clearly you didn't get the hint".
I was a bitch, why did I just say that??? I need to go I need to get out of here. He doesn't deserve this all this drama. He looked at me sad this time, his eyes peered into mine and I regretted every word I just said.
"I-I have to go".

I got up quickly and turned away. Was I really leaving like this ?!? It's too late. I turned around to see Leo standing and just looking at me, with the saddest eyes. But I just kept walking. I was such a bitch.
