2. Tom Riddle's name was inspired be a real gravestone where J.K Rowling lived. Supposedly, J.K. Rowling had gone late in the night, outside to the graveyard to do "dark" magic. This supposed dark magic is what people say is how she got her success for Harry Potter. While she was doing this, she saw a tombstone with the surname Rydle on it. So, she got the idea of Tom Marvolo Riddle.
No wonder Tom Riddle is evil. His name is inspired from a tombstone in a graveyard. But, then again, Professor McGonagall's surname is also inspired from there too.
