The twins were stuck in a cave inside a seemingly dormant volcano. How they arrived there they couldn't recall. Dipper had thought of many different escape plans once they first arrived at the cave, so many that they lost track after 37. He's stopped now. He's figured that it would be a useless effort and with many grave consequences, for whenever they tried to escape, the Carver of the day would dish out a horrid punishment.
Dipper and Mabel had been holding on in hopes that they would be rescued, but... After a while, they gave up, and became almost like robots, ignoring everything, feeling nothing. Until one day. The day that the note appeared.
