A hand holding a bat smashed it down into the ground, inches away from Dipper's neck. He looked up to see someone who didn't look like M at all. Yet she seemed more real than the well-disguised monster. This girl wore large black glasses, had long dark hair, tanned-looking skin, and a scared, nervous smile.
"Mind beast. They're pretty common. Among the many demons in this portal with me." She muttered shyly. "I got used to them. I'm Madeline. M was my messenger. Technically she doesn't exist anymore, I couldn't sustain her in a solid form for long." She nodded, and looked down at Dipper, who was lying on the floor, stunned by the attack.
"So he finally completed the machine?" She asked quietly.
"Uh...y-yes!" Dipper stammered. Why was he so nervous around this girl? He didn't even know her!
"...when... He activates it, a light will appear in here. We either have to go through at the same time or one of us doesn't make it out alive. It won't be open long...So get ready." Madeline said, shaking a bit. Dipper nodded. As soon as they saw the light, they dove for it, and were enveloped by it.
