Gino's POV
I walked to my room and thought about me going against Maddie. I'm not scared, but with the solo Cathy gave me... I don't stand a chance. I don't mind, but I really want to impress Maddie. I know I won't.
"Gino come down here" Dad called me from the living room.
"What?" I asked as I walk towards him.
"I talked to Abby, behind cameras and she told me she would be glad to have you on the team."
As soon as I heard those words a smile came across my face "She did?"
"Yeah, but she said, she can't have you being at CADC. You will have to quit. She also wants to talk to you." He said and looked at my phone. "Your phone is..s"
The word S came faster to my head and I answer before dad could answer. "Sophia?" I said, then realized how desperate I sound. "Hey Gino it's Sophia..." Sophia's voice sounded through my phone.
"Oh... Hey" I said and looked at the floor.
"I heard you are going to be in the ALDC elite team" She snapped. Her voice is pitchy like a little girl, but still so bossy.
"How?" I mumbled through my teeth.
"Little birdie... Anyways, tell me you are not going to chase after Maddie when you get there?"
"What are you talking about?" I looked at my iPhone and then pressed it lightly on my ear.
"I know you like Maddie"
"N-no I don't" I mumbled. My dad stared at me and I walked away to the front porch.
"I know you do." She giggled. "Anyways, got to go. I don't know why you want to be in a group instead of being a soloist..." She hung up with out letting me talk. I locked my phone and walked to my room. I climbed to my bed and fell into a deep sleep.
The rest of the week was normal. Soon enough Friday came. "Gino, hurry" My dad rushed me into the car. I grabbed my bag, my phone and ran to the car. "Let's go!" my dad said as I closed the door and he turned on the engine. I saw Sophia in front of a green house at the end of my street, maybe she'll move in.
"Remember this is your last CADC solo." My dad said and parked the car next to Cathy's. I nodded and jumped out of the car and into the black limousine Cathy always brings. She wants to be just like Abby... I sat down next to Zack on my right then Nick on my left. Both of them are really tall, taller than I am actually. "Does Maddie know?" Zack asked me. My heart starts raising "What?" I mumbled.
"You know... That you two are going against each other" He cleared.
"Oh y-yeah"
"Don't worry" He shook his head and turned to talk to Mackenzie. Mackenzie has black long hair. She is so small for her age and the only girl in the group; she battled Nia from ALDC on a street-freestyle, and she won so Cathy let her stay.
I looked at my dad who was sitting next to Zack's mom. They were arguing about my dad not being loyal to the team, which is true because we hate it here. But my dad keeps saying that he is. We passed by a McDonald's and I realized I was hungry and I don't remember if I had breakfast.
"Ok we are 5 minutes from the competition" Cathy starts her usual speech. The competition is here in Ohio, it's not that far from us but it is for the ALDC, they are from Pittsburgh. "I don't want second places. I'm tired of second places aren't you?" We all nodded. "Well then let's beat ALDC" She smiled and turned to the front of the limo. She was right because 5 minutes after the speech, we arrived.
