Long ago, I lived in a broken down house with my two lovely daughters, Drizella and Anastasia. It was our last night here before I was to marry Barron, I kind man who has a beautiful house. "Mother ? Do you really want to marry Baron?," Anastasia asked. I knelt down beside her," we will surely die if I don't. He has money and we are in need of a home and food. I've found we now can't afford either.," I frowned . We were used to living life of luxury, and now we were living nearly homeless. Baron was the best option. "Get some rest girls;we leave first thing tomorrow morning.," I sighed. They marched off to our room and turned out the light. Work? This isn't what you expected? Or stick around.. this is my tale. Hear my side. I set up reading a while, then I began pulling my clothes for tomorrow out of the closet. It was a beautiful white gown , and I was sure Baron would like it. I walked down the hall to my room and climbed into my cot. After we rested, we began packing our things into the carriage. " mother? Are you certain, there's no other way? ," Anastasia asked. " i'm sorry but there is not.," I frowned. We climbed into the carriage and set off towards Baron's home. We reached the house and my daughters were still disappointed. " it's wonderful to see you lady Tremaine.," he bowed and kissed my hand. " lovely to see you as well, Baron.," I smiled. A little girl about the same age as my daughters came bounding out of the house. She had blonde hair, blue eyes, bare skin, and a beautiful figure. " dad, who are they?," she wondered aloud. The poor child had an any idea. " she's going to be your new mother.,"He replied. I forced smile," hello child.," I tried for a smile. "Hello..," she walked away, after an awkward silence. I cleared my throat," Baron? You didn't tell me you had a child?," I waited for his response." I didn't know it was important.," he shrugged. He grabbed my hand leaving my daughters and I into the house.
Years later, my husband passed away while working. I felt such sadness that I felt I couldn't do my daily tasks. Ella, my stepdaughter, offered to help me out. I want to take over tasks. She swept, clean forest, clean windows from fireplace, did laundry, cooked, and several other tasks. I knew I shouldn't let her have to do that much, but she offered. I was sitting with my daughters early June, and she was cleaning the fireplace my daughter saw she was dirty and covered in ash. "Cinder – Ella. Cinderella!,"Drizella exclaimed proud of herself. I frowned as they both laughed. I wasn't getting involved though they clearly seemed to mean it as a joke. She didn't seem to mind the nickname either. She kept picking the lentils from the fireplace. That evening my daughters admitted they were jealous of Ella. "She's so pretty and she isn't even trying.,"They said. I shook my head," girls, you are beautiful. Why on earth be jealous of ,Ella?,"I responded. I knew she was prettier though. Her mother must've been gorgeous. I walked in the moonlight for an hour, just thinking about today. When I came to my room, I fell asleep instantly. The next morning, I pulled my daughters into a room for music lessons. Drizella sung loud and off pitch, while Anastasia played the flute messing Drizella up. We can hear Ella as she cleans with a beautiful voice. It sounds so natural. I don't understand what Baron did to get her as a child. She's everything I wish my daughters were. Hours later, Ella came with invitations it was a ball which the prince would pick a wife. She wanted to go. "May I go,stepmother?,"she asked so nicely. I didn't want my stepdaughter to be embarrassed. We had much nicer clothes than she did., and different sizes, too. "If you can pick two dishes of lentils from the fireplace and find something nice to where you may go.," I stated. I felt that was fair. She smiled," oh, thank you so much.," she ran upstairs, my daughters were visibly upset. " get started on getting ready girls.," I smiled. " mother? Why?!," Drizella exclaimed. I frowned," I felt that was fair. Now run along.," I walked outside. I saw Ella come downstairs, picking lentils from the fireplace. She was clearly excited about the ball. I guess, she found something to wear. When I came inside, I began getting ready myself. When I finished, I found both my daughters ready and beautiful gowns. " you look beautiful.," I smiled. "Thank you.," they said at the same time." Do you mean to me. No me. Me.,"they spoke. I laughed. Ella came downstairs in a beautiful pink and white dress. " well?," she smiled. The girls looked shocked. " hey those are mine!," they begin tearing her dress. I yelled," girls!," but it was too late. She ran crying to the garden. I forced a smile," come on... Let's go.," I sighed. We climbed in the carriage and set off to the ball. " Lady Tremaine, Anastasia, and Drizella.," The announcer called as we walked in. I stood in the crowd. My daughters walked in the line leading to the prince. The curtsied to him and introduced themselves. He looked over to the entrance. A girl stood in a beautiful gown and a pair of glass slippers that is when he walked up to her and asked her to dance. He danced with her and only her, that night. The next morning, there was an announcement. The prince was only going to marry the girl who fit the glass slipper. The entire kingdom was so excited. I came by Ella's room and found she was humming. " how are you, dear?," I smiled. " lovely, and you stepmother?," she beamed. I saw they were coming, and I left a room. Anastasia tried on the shoe, but it was too small on her toe. Drizella tried it on next, but it was too small on her heel. " have you any other children?,"the duke asked. I sighed," just Ella, but she's too dirty, right now.," I frowned ." Go get her.," he requested. I called,"Ella!," she came downstairs quickly. The duke tripped over my cane and broke the slipper. He began crying holding pieces in his hands. " it's all right.," she smiled, holding the second slipper. He wiped his tears and smiled. He got so excited. He grabbed it quickly and put it on her foot. It was a perfect fit. He jumped up and down, and he took her away. She became the prince's bride. My daughters and I were miserable after that. I missed Ella being around. I guess we get no happily ever after. ____The end
