|||The bright, dazzling lights of the stage shine down upon the audience and the entertainer. Wolf whistles and shouts ring through the room as the woman dances upon the stage, waving a feathered fan around her body and enrapturing the crowd.
Amongst the seated crowd sits Five Hargreeves, looking upon the stage silently. Number One, Luther approaches his brother from behind in a steady march, feeling annoyance rise within his large frame. Why was it that after he has finally moved on all of his past from the future arises?
"She's too young for you," Luther claims as he leans over his brother's shoulder to speak in his ear. "And don't you have the weird thing with Ester going on?"
"Nice to see you too, Luther." Five says, sounding almost sarcastic as he continues to look forward. He remains unsurprised of his brother's arrival as he had been the whole reason for his appearance in the first place.
"What do you want?" Luther wants nothing to do with the Umbrella Academy problems that followed Five like a shadow. He was done cleaning up messes that were caused by a Father who did not care.
"For you to stop hovering like an ambitious stripper and sit down with me," Five jests and looks over his shoulder. Luther looks around as well at the talking crowd surrounding them before taking the empty seat beside his brother.
"How long have you been here?"
"I'm sorry have you not gone over this with Ester, your partner in crime? And a year, thanks to you."
Five pauses for a moment, blinking slowly as he takes a second to make sure he heard his words correctly. Ester had found Luther. She was okay, but first Five must address his brother's problems with him. "I'm sorry, Luther. I know that couldn't have been easy. When did you see Ester?"
"I thought everybody was dead," Luther glares back at his brother, disregarding his question in favor of talking of what Five had committed against him. The noise of an unknown man harassing Mr. Ruby reaches Luther's ears, causing him to look over. Mr. Ruby's face is growing in irritation as the unknown continues to talk and jabber away at the criminal. "I gotta go."
"Luther, wait," Five grabs ahold of Luther's arm to keep him from walking away from the important conversation. "Look, I get it, okay? I know what it's like to be stuck in time...thinking this is how you're gonna live out the rest of your life. On the run, and not knowing if you're ever gonna see the people you love again, and to be in an unfamiliar world. But Luther, you're not alone. We have to find the others because the world ends in ten days. I have no idea how to stop it."
Sincerity and regret is laced within Five's voice as he looks up to Luther, attempting to appeal to his stance and gain his help. Dread and the sickening feeling of the unknown are lingering within Five's conciousness as he tries to make a plan to save the world for a second time. For there truly is no rest for the wicked in any time.
"I don't give a shit."
With that simple sentence, Luther Hargreeves walks away from his pleading brother, wanting nothing to do with his issues. Five quickly stands, following after the hard-headed ape-man with an exasperated stare. HE darts around the tall man and stops him in his tracks amidst the large crowd.
"The hell is wrong with you, Luther? I just told you the world is gonna end in ten days," A disgruntled confusion had been risen at Luther's uncaring attitude. Luther looks unamused as he stares down at Five, still unbothered by the information he learned.
"Yeah, well, you're always saying that. And I'm surprised Ester didn't try to preach the same thing, since she's always following after you."
"So far, I've been right, and Ester was right to help me out since she was the only one with her head out of her ass and was able to identify that the end of the world is a problem!"
