Promise? Haku x Chihiro

Chapter 2: Once You've Met Someone You Never Really Forget Them.

"Chihiro, come we're going to be late!" Her friend Hayami called. Chihiro quickly locked her bike up and ran over to her.

"Hey sorry, let go." Chihiro says. As the girls are walking to class Hayami looks down at Chihiro's pink flower.

"Ohhh." Hayami says teasingly, "Who were you meeting up with? Was he cute?" Chihiro laughs and says,

"Yeah, if my memory serves me right." Hayami raises an eye brown then chuckles. The two finally get to their homeroom.

"Miss Hayami and Chihiro please take a seat." Their teacher says.

"Are we late ma'am?" Chihiro asks, putting her things down.

"No, but next time try to be early."

"Yes, Mr. Zhao." Hayami and Chihiro say, giving a seated bow.

"Now class, we are going to go over the class syllabus. Make sure you do not lose it..." Mr. Zhao's words start to fade as Chihiro looks out the window. The open windows allow the breeze to invite itself in. She looks down at the flower and can't help but smile...

"Miss Chihiro? Miss Chihiro, can you read section two of the syllabus." Chihiro snaps out of her daydreaming,

"Oh, me? Yes of course."

After first-period is over Chihiro and Hayami walk to their next class. The halls are filled with sounds of laughter.

"Everyone is in such a happy mood." Chihiro comments.

"It's because they haven't had taken any quizzes yet." Hayami smiles.

"You're right." Chihiro chuckles. A cool breeze blows past her. Chihiro whips her head around but all she can see are students and teachers.

"Are you ok?" Hayami aks.

"Yeah, I just thought I felt a draft coming in." Chihiro says.

"Not me dude I'm sweating." Hayami replies.

Chihiro and Hayami sit down in their second-period class when Chihiro hears some commotion at the door. Kano Seo, the most popular guy in school, walks in with all his friends. Chihiro rolls her eyes. She doesn't like the way all the other girls in school seem to fall to his feet.

"Wow, I can't believe that Kano Seo is in our class." Hayami swoons. Chihiro looks at her blankly.

The rest of the day was quite boring to Chihiro. She gathered her papers and went out to get her bike. Hayami's mother drives up and Hayami hops in the car.

"I'll see you tomorrow!" She waves.

"Ja ne (じゃあね)" Chihiro shouts back. Chihiro gets on her bike and sets the flower in the bike's basket. She is pleasantly surprised that it hasn't started to wilt. Chihiro starts to bike back up towards her home when she feels another strange breeze. The breeze seems to be pushing her to the left so she goes with it. She countries to follow the breeze until she reaches a small garden/park.

Chihiro grabs the flower and hops off her bike. There are some older women walking in the park wich Chihiro gives a polite bow to. The garden is filled with beautiful trees and flowers. The serene sound of trickling water calls to her. She walks over the koi pond and the breeze stops. Chihiro looks around hopefully but sees nothing.

"Where are you Haku?" She whispers holding the flower against her chest. All of a sudden the wind swirls around her bringing her to her feet. She can't believe her eyes.

"Haku?" She runs to him; falling into his sweet embrace. She reaches up to touch his face,

"Is it really you?" She says as happy tears roll down her cheeks.

"Of course, Chihiro. I missed you so much." He responds. Chihiro squeezes him tightly.

"I missed you too. How are you here?" She asks

"After I left Yababa, I went to Zeniba. She promised to help me find you. I'm sorry it took so long." He puts his hand on her cheek as she presses against it. Chihiro can now see that Haku is crying too.

"I could wait forever for you."
