Keisha didn't know what to think about the news about Jason. It's been a five weeks since Robin told her that he wasn't the same Jason she knew and that both terrified her and calmed her. Ever since she escaped from Franco she has been preparing herself for the worst. She'd prepared herself in case Jason had moved on and got married and started a family of his own. It's been a long time so she didn't expect him to grieve forever.
Sighing, she walked into the Penthouse and into the elevator to head to her apartment. Her apartment wasn't empty but it wasn't empty either. She had to start her life over and that meant she had to start from scratch.
Just as Keisha walked into her apartment, Jason was walking out of his.
Jason:
He watched the door across the hall from his apartment close. He hadn't known someone had moved in across the hall. Locking his door, he made his way out. He was on his way to visit the girls. About a week ago, Jason was shot and Melissa called off the wedding, saying she couldn't stick around and watch him die. She didn't take away his rights to see the girls though. She knew how much they all meant to each other so she lets him see them wheenever they want to see Jason.
"Daddy!" the girls screamed and ran towards Jason.
"Hey." he laughs as they jump into his arms.
"We've missed you!"
Jason chuckled,"You just saw me yesterday."
"That's way too long!" Caroline says.
"Yeah, way too long."Samantha agreed.
Jason looked at them and smiles,"Well, I'm sorry." he says,"It won't happen again."
Keisha:
Keisha took a deep breath and calmly stepped off the elevator. The hospital looked the same as it did nine years ago. She calmly made her way towards a wall that held pictures of people that had passed. Her hand flew to her mouth when she noticed that Edward Aand Alan Quartermane's pictures were on the wall. She couldn't believe that Alan and Edeard had passed. Alan was like a Father to her and Edward was like an overprotective grandfather. Tears welled in her eyes as the pain of their death hit her. She reached out and touched both their pictures as more tears flooded her face.
"We lost Alan a few years ago." came a woman's voice.
"And Edward?"
"A few days ago." she says.
Keisha swallowed the choked cry that threatened to escape her lips,"When is his funeral?"
"Tomorrow." the woman says,"We're having a gathering after at our home."
Keisha nodded before rushing off, not bothering to see who she'd been speaking to. She was far to upset to do anything remotely close to trying to comfort anyone else let alone be friendly.
She was so angry. At Franco. Because of him she'd lost two of the most important men in her life. Getting into her car she made her way back to her apartment where she would stay for the remainder of the day.
A few days after Robin had told her that Jason had changed his last name to Morgan and had changed himself, she'd decided to look him up. She was beyond shocked at what she had found.
He was in the mob?
No.
He WAS the mob.
He worked for a man named Sonny Corinthos. He did Sonnys dirty work for him. He's been arrested numerous of times but nothing ever stuck. He's been called cold hearted, aloof, distant and a stone blooded killer.
This wasn't the Jason she fell in love with but then again not even HE knew who the old Jason was so how could she or anyone else expect him to go back to being the Jason they remember when he can't remember that guy?
Sighing, Keisha decided to curl up on the couch and watch as many movies about mobster on Xfinity as her eyes would allow her until she fell asleep. She was determined to try and understand what kind of life Jason was now living.
Jason:
Walking into his apartment, Jason suddenly found himself thinking about the one person he'd done his best to try and forget.
Keisha Ward.
Since his accident, nine years ago, she's the only thing he has ever been able to remember from his old life. He remember everything about her. Her smile, her laugh, the eay her skin felt agaist his, the way she smelled like honey and oak and the sound of her voice. And because he remembered her so well, he remembered that it broke something in him when he found out that the only memory from his old life had died along with his old memories. Occasionally, maybe a few tines out of the year, he'd find himself thinking about her. He wanted to forget, found it less painful but he didn't want to forget entirely. She was the only connection to his past. He couldn't forget her completely.
He only had one picture of her. Robin had given it to him a few days after she revealed to him that she had died. She was dressed in a black dress, her hair was wild and curly and she had a smile on her lips, her teeth showing also. She looked happy. Robin told him that he'd been the one to take the photo of her. He remembers smiling as the memory flooded his mind. She hadn't want to take the picture but he was able to convince her otherwise.
Sighing, Jason grabbed the box from his closet and removed the picture of her from beneath all the old photos of his life. She was beautiful. She'd always been beautiful but this particular picture she looked out of this world beautiful with her smile.
He loved Melissa, he always would. She'd put up with a lot while with him and she gave him two beautiful girls to love. Nothing would ever change that. But he would have given anything to see Keisha again, to touch her one last time. He'd lost her before he could even meet her again.
Guess it wasn't meant to be.
