Chapter 16
Jasmine's P.O.V.
It's too bad that the fun in the sun couldn't last any longer. I was really enjoying myself as the four of us messed around in the water. Hell, I enjoyed it so much I think I got a tan in places that haven't even seen the sun until this crazy trip. Thankfully, by the time we wrestled our way into our suits again a group of four made their way out onto our private stretch of beach. Though, they tried to say we could stay we told them quickly that we understood and made our way back to the room.
For the first time since meeting my mates, I was ready to just sit back and relax in some comfortable clothing on the couch with a good movie. Lucky enough for me, or it could be our close bond, but the others felt pretty much the same way I did. So, after a quick change and unusually separate showers the four of us found ourselves cuddled together on the one long couch, most of our limbs tangled together.
“I could get used to this.” I said sighing, my head resting against Dean's shoulder as my fingers absently traced a pattern on Amie's leg.
“Heck, yea.” Danny added sounding satisfied and content.
“How long do you think we will be able to stay here in paradise?” Amie asked wistfully.
“No telling.” Dean put in.
We sat quietly after that, completely happy to watch the old action movie we had all agreed on to watch. Dusk had just started falling and the movie was getting really good when I heard the distant sound of people yelling outside. I couldn't help but sit up off the couch slightly, curious because with all our time spent here I'd never really heard any of the couples around the island. Especially while inside the secure room.
“Do you guys hear that?” Amie asked, perking up next to me. The yelling outside was getting louder and louder.
Both boys stood up, instantly disentangling themselves from us. In almost unison, they headed towards the front door, their stances alert and tense.
“What is it?” Amie asked, also eying our mates.
“Something's wrong.” Dean said, his voice deep and commanding.
Bang, Bang, Bang.
“What the fuck? Who's knockin' at the door?” Danny asked nobody.
“Jaz! Open the door!” A male voice sounded from the other side.
Everyone turned to look at me as I jumped off the couch and ran to the door. It was my brother Jackson, I'd know that voice anywhere. Of course as the thought crossed my mind, my three mates looked worried as well, following me in my race to the door.
Throwing the door open I saw Jackson and his little mate. Two other people standing behind them looking put out. “Jackson! What's wrong?” I asked instantly.
“Something's attacking the island! I've been hearing yelling coming from down on the beach for a few minutes before people started running back into the trees...
“What the hell is all that! When did you get tattoos like that!” Jackson's eye's narrowed on my bare arms.
“Wait, did you say something's attacking us? What kind of something? Do they fly?” Dean asked ignoring my brother's questions, wrapping his arm around my shoulders as if to protect me.
Jackson gave him a strange look before nodding. “They are like nothing I've ever seen, hell they aren't even anything I have ever read about.”
“Do you think it's the prophecy? You know it said some strange shit about some flying beasts.” Danny said, barging in on my other side, Amie in tow.
