Jelly Babies and Mean Girls

Calum's POV

Today after I had returned home from hell meaning school I went to go pick up Brianna from her house. Luke and Michael hadn't suspected a thing all day when I told them I had to study for this big test I had just so that I didn't have to witness the pain Brianna was going through. Trust me I felt awful not being there to protect her but I had no choice. If  I would've been there to protect her I know I would have got hurt and she told me not to get involved and I had to do just that. Luke was telling me all about how he gave her a black eye and how he runied her hair and then she was crying on the floor, he was laughing well telling me all of this and I was so close to jumping up out of my chair and punching straight in the face for hurting Brianna. I didn't respond to what he told me I just kept my head down and when he asked me why I wasn't listening I made up the excuse that I had zoned out. I saw Brianna twice through out the whole day and every time I saw her I would give her a wink or discreetly squeeze her hand as we walked past each other getting caught up in the crowds.

After Luke and Michael had beaten her though I didn't see her. Not around the corridors, I didn't even see her after school so I was worried. I text her, yes we have each others numbers now, and she told me she was at home and couldn't continue school after getting hurt. When I read the text tears fell from my eyes knowing that I couldn't protect her from their actions. I ran home, running up to my room to drop off my bag which was heavy from kmy P.E kit. ''Calum where do you think you are going?'' My Mum asked me as I was about to walk back out of the door. I really wanted to avoid this conversation. ''To a friends.'' I plainly said walking out of the house and heading towards Brianna's.

I knocked on her door knowing where she lived after I dropped her off home yesterday after our trip to the park. ''Hey Calum come in my Dad's not going to be home till midnight so we have the house to ourselves.'' She told me opening the door and walking with me into her living room. ''Oh do we now?...'' I winked, she playfully slapped my arm, gesturing for me to sit on the sofa. ''Hey let me see your eye?'' I asked her moving her head with my finger so I got her to face me. The sight infront of me was awful her eyes was black and blue and swollen though she still looked pretty.... ''Oh Brianna wait there.'' I told her. I got of the sofa running to the kitched. I opened her freezer and luckily there was an ice pack in there. I wrapped a towel round the ice pack walking back in the room. ''Here this should help take the swelling down a bit.'' I told her placing the ice pack on her eye and holding it for her.

''Thank you Calum.'' She smiled, I smiled back leaning back on the sofa so I could sit next to her. She lent her head on my shoulder as I held the ice pack to her eye. ''I am so sorry I couldn't protect. Luke was telling me that he hurt yo, laughing as well as he told me the story you know how bad I wanted to jump off my seat and punch him straight in the face so he could feel the pain that he puts you through?'' I said thinking of Luke and his stupid smug face.

''Calum it's fine seeing you before the incident made me happy.'' She smiled looking up at me.

''I am glad I can make you happy, don't worry I am not going to completly ignore you at school. I thought by winking at you and sqeezing your hand would let you know that I am still there just not there to help you because you know that I can't....'' I sighed, she sighed before lifting her head off my shoulder and looking me in the eyes. ''Look Cal I know you don't have to worry about it, I am fine and we will get through this together.'' She said taking hold of me hand, I nodded kissing her forhead. ''Right then I suggest we get some snacks and watch a movie and stay warm under a blanket do you agree?'' I asked trying to lighten the mood.

''Yes Calum I agree.'' She laughed.

''So what are we watching?'' Brianna asked setting the doritos on the coffee table and handing me a can of coke. ''I don't know it's up to you.'' I said shrugging my shoulders nibbling on a dorito.

''How about Mean Girls? It's my favourite movie I used to watch it all the time with........Luke.'' She whispered. ''But lets forget about him wanna watch that then?'' She asked lightening up again. I nodded ''Yea sure I have never seen it so there is a first time for everything.'' I laughed, she nodded searching through the box of DVD's next to her T.V before pulling out Mean Girls and putting it into the DVD player. She plonked herself next to me taking a dorito from the bag and popping it in her mouth. ''Oh wait I forgot the Jelly Babies! I'll be back in a sec.'' She said before shooting off the sofa. I instantly felt her warm presence leave my side and I would be lying if I said I didn't miss it. ''Got them!'' She annouced flopping back on the sofa next to me. ''Really you needed Jelly Babies that bad?'' I chuckled, she gasped turning to face me. ''Jelly Babies are the best sweets in the world all have you know and you cannot watch a film without Jelly Babies.'' She laughed.

''Well ok then whatever you say....'' I chuckled, then I stole a red Jelly Baby from the packet popping it into my mouth. ''Hey!''

A/N: Welcome back fellow readers to my story....ok thats just weird, I hope you guys liked this chapter I auctally really like the title of this chapter and I have no idea why?? Calum is so sweet in this chapter and it makes me wanna meet him even more *sigh*. So you are probably wondering what Brianna looks like there is a picture on the side of what I pictured her to look like in my head, the girl isn't famous I don't think she is anyway but yea....

Now you are probably thinking what has the book cover got to do with this whole story? Well it will link in don't you worry and also again don't worry Ashton will be in the book just not yet but I will give you a clue. This Ashton Irwin realtes to the real life Ashton Irwin and he will have the same personality as he does in real life.

You know how hard it is to write this book and make Luke and Michael horrible people. They could never be horrible I mean look at them you could never hate Michael and Luke even if you tried because they are too nice to hate.
