I didn't expect him to find me
I didn't expect to speak to him
I didn't expect anything to happen

It's a neon light flashing in my face
The poem
The words
The things I wanted to say

But his voice caressing the night
Unbalanced me
And made me wane
Awry my heart
Weary my soul

I went outside
With no intention
Overwhelmed by the voices
I needed some peace

The swing set
In all it's beauty
Spoke to me

I could see Hunter
The tiedye eye boy
Swinging on the lonely swing
When he was alone or lonely or bored

So, I kicked off my shoes
And took the seat
I didn't expect anything
Just for the night to swallow me

Then he appeared
And his voice was like the prettiest of ribbons
Dancing around the poles of the swings
Dancing in the grass
Tickling my feet

His eyes shone like a beacon
His smile as bright as the sun

When we went home
And I lay in the comfort of my bed
Sleep drowned me silently
And for the first time in my life
I dreamed
I dreamed the most beautiful dream
