We arrive at the sheriff's station and Emma sits down David in her office as I bring him some coffee. I hand it to him, and he thanks me politely Emma sits at her desk, and I lean on the front of her desk. "I hope Kathryn is somewhere warm, not out in the cold" he sighs looking down at his cup.
"David, I think you need to start worrying about yourself a little bit more here, your wife is missing. you're in love with another woman. There's this unexplained phone call." Emma says holding up the papers "I know. I know. I just... I can't explain why it says that. I didn't do anything to my wife." He says in disbelief " I'm pretty good at spotting a liar and honestly liars have better material." Emma says patting him on the arm " now go home" Emma says standing up from her desk " I can go?" He asks as Emma walks to her door and opens it " we don't even know if there's a crime yet so get some sleep." Emma says as David stands up smiling to me as he sets his mug down on the desk and walks out the door " and David maybe... get a lawyer" he stops to look back at her shocked then leaves.
"I don't think he did its Emma" I say looking at her concerned "me either, but right now let's go home have a fresh mind for tomorrow" I nod and stand up "I'm probably going to stay the night at Ruby's tonight, unless you and Mary Margret need me" she smiles at me "no go be with your girlfriend me and Mary Margret are fine" I blush brightly at the word girlfriend.
I decided that I'm going to walk with Emma to get Mary Margret from the town square then head to the diner. "People are thinking Mary Margret did this" Emma says beside of me as we walked down the sidewalk almost arriving at the town square.
"I'm not surprised if I was back in Boston that was the first thing I would think. But I know she didn't do it" I say as Mary Margret walks over to us smiling. " Hey Emma, hey Tessa" she says walking over to us coming to stand in between me and Emma.
"How was it, did you sell all the candles" I question smiling at her "yeah all of them" she smiles back at me.
"Is David okay" Mary Margret questions her smile turning to a frown. "Yeah, he's a little shaken up but he's fine" Emma reply's looking over at her "any word from Kathryn" she asks "nothing new" I say "did you check Boston again" she asks "she's not there Mary Margret" Emma says looking at her frowning.
Mary Margret sighs "so we have no idea what happened to her" she asks looking straight ahead "all we know is she found out about you two and gave you a well-deserved slap, and then disappeared" Mary Margrets head lifted up at the well-deserved part. Then she starts to slow down Emma leaving her in her dust "well deserved? Do you really believe that?" Mary Margret asks and then Emma stops in her tracks and turns back to us "no, I'm just preparing you for what everyone else is going to think" Mary Margret turns her head in question "you two are going to look back until we figure out the truth" Emma explains "you mean David?" Mary Margret asks still confused "you think people are going to think in order to be free with me..." she drifts off thinking the worst her mouth slightly open taking it all in "and he's not doing himself any favors so if there's anything you can think of to pin down his whereabouts that night" Emma starts as we continue to walk "he wasn't with me. We really were through." She explains keeping her head down.
"Sorry no I'm good" I hear a familiar voice as I look up "ruby" I whisper, and I start to walk towards them "don't do anything stupid deputy" Emma shouts from behind me and Ruby looks up and smiles at me "hey baby" she walks past the dude in the black coat. "Dr. Whale" I hear Mary Margret question and he turns around to look at her. I tuned out as soon as ruby reached my arms pulling me in a hug.
I take in her sent "god I've missed you" she giggles as I pick her up and spin her around and set her back down. "Well I was just having a chat with Ruby there, but I should um-" he starts but I cut him off "yeah you really should" he nods and turns to walk away " oh and whales if you ever talk to my girlfriend like that again don't expect me to be so nice, a no is a no" I give him murder eyes and he gulps and nods walking across the street.
