porcelain doll, chapter 4
"i swear i saw her move!" taehyung shouted to his parents, pointing the doll sitting on his chair.
mrs. kim gave his son a look of disbelief, "really, tae? i don't think so. it's a doll." but the boy shook his head, "it's a realistic-looking doll and i saw her move! can we move her to jennie's old room? please?" taehyung pleaded.
mr. kim let out a sigh, "alright. but i think lisa needs to stay in your room for the night, i don't exactly remember where i put the keys to jennie's room and you need to sleep, sweetheart." he said, bending down to kiss taehyung's forehead.
"so sleep first, okay? we'll move her first thing in the morning, you still have classes." mr. kim said before standing up properly, taehyung only gave his father a nod.
"okay." taehyung says, mrs. kim smiled at his son and kisses his cheeks, "goodnight, baby." his mother said.
"goodnight."
that night, taehyung laid uncomfortably on his bed with a troubled look.
not because of the doll though he isn't over it yet, but because of school.
his first day at a new school, that thought made taehyung nervous.
will people like me? will i make friends? jennie won't be there to keep me company anymore and play with me. those thoughts filled his mind.
drowning in his own thoughts about his sister, he didn't realize lisa realistically stands up on her own, having a confused look on her porcelain face.
she touches her straight blonde hair and looks at herself before her eyes widened.
"h-how am i-" she whispers but instantly covers her mouth once she saw a figure of a boy sleeping a few meters away from her.
the boy must be deep in thought or sleeping since he didn't feel the presence of a porcelain doll moving so suddenly in the middle of the night.
her eyes grew big when she saw the boy's shaking shoulders, "is he crying?" the doll whispers to herself before silently making her way to the trembling boy.
she sats on the bed, feeling it sink. taehyung felt this so he turned around, his eyes were puffy but he can't seem to notice how it was a doll in front of him since he didn't scream.
"m-mom, i miss j-jennie." the boy uttered, scooting his way to lisa's lap not knowing the doll's figure is far from his mom's figure because of the dark.
lisa didn't reply but instead ran her long fingers through the boy's silky black hair making the boy melt into her fingers, yawning as sleepiness took over.
lisa smiled when she hears snores coming from taehyung's mouth, she then tucked the boy to his bed, lisa still caressing taehyung's head.
staring at the twelve-year-old, lisa finally decided to stay by the boy's side and be the jennie who can keep him company,
"i don't know how i became like this but i guess i'll take care of you from now on and be your friend, taehyung-ssi."
