I'm sitting at a huge piano in my rather empty New York apartment. This piano has always been very important to me, it used to belong to my Grandfather and he gave it to me when he learned that I was moving out of my parents house. My Grandfather taught me how to play on this piano and in his old age still enjoys coming over to watch me play. Today was one of those days.

My Grandfather is coming over to watch me play and just to visit but this time it's special. Today is the day my biggest role model meets my boyfriend, Michael Diamond. Mike has already met my both of my Moms and my Dad has been in the picture since I was three so that's why this is so important. He's meeting the closest thing I ever had to a Father figure and he's nervous.

I'm playing a soft melody on the piano as I listen to him pacing back and forth, he's unknowingly keeping me in time. So when he abruptly stops it messes me up and I end up hitting the wrong note. He obviously notices and comes over to the piano bench and sits beside me.

He doesn't say anything he just rests his head on my shoulder and tries to calm himself down. I smile to myself at his presence and rest my fingers on the piano again. Mike and I have been dating for almost three years now. I cannot exactly say why he hasn't met my Grandfather yet but I'm glad it's finally happening. I'm about to start another song when Mike starts talking and I direct my attention towards him.

"What if he hates me?" He says nervously as he stares down at my hands and I roll my eyes at him.

"Now why would he do that?" I say to my dramatic boyfriend. He's overreacting.

"Because I am a hooligan." He says as he lifts his head from my shoulder and turns on the bench so he's facing me and I do the same so we are face to face.

"You are not a hooligan, a bit rambunctious at times? Yes. A hooligan? No." I say as I grab his hands for reassurance. He smiles and relaxes a bit.

"I guess you're right, but how do I look?" He asks earning an eye roll from me. Mike's wearing a very simple flattering outfit, he's wearing blue jeans and a light blue button up shirt. It's quite different from what he usually wears but I think he rock anything, even giant Volkswagen emblems.

"Hot as hell baby." I say winking at him and he tries to hide his smile and fails. He groans at my comment as he tilts his head back, he loves it when I call him hot but I'm guessing he didn't want to hear that right now. But he does look hot.

"You look very charming." I say reassuring him, he brings his head back so I can see his face. He smiles at me as I stare and momentarily get lost in his blue eyes. He's hot what can I say.

"Thank you, you look very beautiful." He says smiling at me, brushing my hair behind my ear. I'm wearing a simple yellow summer dress but Mike thinks I look beautiful in anything. Even if I don't he'll still call me beautiful.

"Thank you." I say smiling as he leans into me and I lean into him. We are just about to kiss when we get interrupted by the sound of a knock on our door, he's here.

"That must be him!" I say excitedly as I get up from the bench and run over to the door, Mike follows.

Just before I open the door I look over at Mike, he's all nervous again. I grab his hand and place a quick kiss on his cheek. He smiles at me and I tell him that it'll be okay, then I open the door.

"Pumpkin!" My Grandfather says as he sees me for the first time in a few months. He smiles as he hugs me and I hug him back, letting go of Mike's hand.

"Hi Grandpa, how have you been?" I say as we release from the hug.

"Well I'm not dead yet." He jokes as he walks into Mike and I's apartment. He has even noticed Mike yet, well he hasn't mentioned his presence at least.

As him and I are walking towards the couch, Mike locks the door. I set him down on the couch and notice that Mike is still at the door. I ask my Grandfather to excuse me for a second and I walk over to Mike.

"He hates me." Mike says in a scared way.

"Mike he's just old, calm down." I say as I drag him over to officially meet my Grandfather.

"Grandpa, I'd like you to meet someone." I say directing his attention towards my bumbling boyfriend who nervously waved at him.

"And who might you be?"

"I'm Michael Diamond, Y/N's boyfriend." He says trying his best to sound confident.

"Pleased to meet you Mr. Diamond. I am Y/N's Grandpa." He says reaching out his hand to shake Mike's. Mike gladly excepts and exchanges a kind smile with my Grandfather. "Now Pumpkin, why don't you play Michael and I something?"

"Of course." I say as Mike sits down next to my Grandfather, still nervous but not as nervous as before. I sit down at the piano and start playing the melody I was working on earlier.

That's how the evening went, we played music, we drank some tea, and we shared stories. Mike eventually got comfortable with my Grandfather which made me very happy.

When it was time for my Grandfather to leave he got up from his seat and gave me a hug. He asked Mike to walk him to his car which is odd, he's never asked me to walk out with him. Mike obviously excepts and the two leave the apartment. I continue cleaning up and when I'm finished Mike comes back into the apartment.

"What was that about?" I ask as I walk over to the smiling Mike.

"He just had something's to say to me." He says as he wraps his hands around my waist pulling my closer to him.

"Like what?"

"Like, and I quote, 'Mr. Diamond, if you want to ask my Granddaughter to marry you just know you have my full support.'" He quotes with a smile catching me off guard. My Grandfather just met this man and he's giving him permission to marry me? He must of really loved Mike, I mean, it's hard not to.

"He wants us to get married?" I say laughing a bit as I wrapped my arms around his neck as he nods. I sigh, "That man's crazy."

Then Mike responds in a whisper almost too quiet for me to hear, almost like I wasn't supposed to hear it but I still do. "Is he though?"

Then Mike pulls me into a romantic kiss, I'm so in love with this man.
