It had been 2, going on 3 weeks without a peep, and I was getting antsy.
I had already moved on to applying to random jobs that wouldn't really pay well. I hate wasting my passion and talents(not to toot my own horn), but it was my only hope. Besides, I knew Sera was planning on moving in with William soon.
After applying to what felt like the 50th fast food restaurant, fingers cramping, I crawl into bed feeling defeated.
Sera knocks on my bedroom door, then lets herself in.
"Still no call?" She asks.
I shake my head and grunt in response.
"Well you can't just lie in bed all the time! There's gotta be something we can do to get your mind off of things!"
She pretends to ponder what could possibly take my mind off of not having a job. But I know exactly what she's thinking.
"I am not going drinking. " I state, before she can even say anything.
"Oh come on, Cam! It'll be fun! I'll invite William and some other people and we'll have a great time! And we can do karaoke!" She pleads.
I think about it for a second. It's not like I have anything else to do.
"Ugh. Fine." I grumble. I know she's just trying to help. "But you have to watch how much I drink. Do you promise?"
I turn to look at her, and she makes a cross over her heart. I just hope she means it.Most of her friends are fully aware that I'm a serious lightweight. Just the slightest bit of alcohol makes me fly off the handle. You don't even wanna know half the things I've said or done in the past while drunk.
She drags me out of the bed and forces me to change into something a bit more presentable than baggy pajama pants and an old, stained sweatshirt.
I should've stayed home.
