I wake up in my bed, something cold, wet, and soggy laying across my forehead.
"What? Where am I?" My head is throbbing, and I can barely see.
"Ugh, you're finally awake." I hear a voice beside me. It's Seraphina.
I snatch the cloth off of my head and shoot up, my head and heart pounding."What. Happened. Last. Night?" I ask, already getting anxious.
"Ummm... Nothing much..." Sera says nervously, not making eye contact.I rub my temples, trying my hardest to remember. And it starts slowly flooding back.

We sit at a booth; me, Sera, and some of her friends."Guys, do NOT let me drink too much. Seriously." I say to all of them. They're barely listening. Sera's already walked up to the stage in the back to sing karaoke.
I shake my head. This is gonna be a long night.
I look over at my drink. It's just a shot, nothing too much. It'll be fine if I just take small sips.
I don't remember much after that, except stumbling to the bathroom, another shot in my hand.
As I walk, I accidentally crash into something. A tall man. I look up. He has a little bit of stubble, and messy black hair. I stare at his eyes, which are the brightest shade of blue I've ever seen.
"Hey there," he says, smirking. His voice is deep and smooth. "Can I get you a drink?""Yeah," I say without even thinking.
We walk over to the bar. He orders something. Some fancy fruity drink.
"Can I tell you a ssssecret?" I ask, slurring my words..
"Go ahead," he says, chuckling a little.
"I lovvveeee books. No one understaaands it. And theres this one author who I lovvveeee. I tried to be his editor but I didn't get a call. Doesn't that suck?" I ramble, "I haven't had a job for like.. everrrrr. And I think my best friend is gonna dump me soon if I don't get one. She's nice and all, but..."
I don't finish my sentence. Because I'm too busy vomiting all over his crisp white button up shirt. After that, I black out.
******
"You're telling me," I begin slowly, "I THREW UP ON A HOT GUY'S SHIRT?!"Sera gives me a sympathetic look.
"You totally collapsed on him. I think you gave him your number, but we had to carry you out of there." She kind of laughs, until she sees my face. I 'm infuriated.
"I told you guys to watch how much I drank." I say through gritted teeth, trying to stay calm. "I'm sick of humiliating myself in public!"
"I know, I know," Sera says, looking genuinely sorry, "but on the bright side, you got a call yesterday!"
"What? From who?"
"Some agency. But you were sorta, well, unavailable. So they said you could come meet them and get interviewed in person tomorrow!"
My eyes widen. Finally some good news.
