Chris and Fiona met a few more times in November of 2017 to sort their divorce papers, the last one was when they met in court. As is any procedure, both had to wait at least 3 to 4 months before the finality of the divorce.

Chris is currently in New York rehearsing for his first ever appearance on Broadway while Fiona is back to supervising her bakery cafe in Newton. After their last meeting, she has seen less and less of her ex-husband. The first Christmas away from each other proved to be challenging. Not only that, it was heartbreaking, as well.

They had to make decisions for Andrew. Who will he celebrate with? Would they have to choose between who gets him for Christmas or New Year?

So Andy wouldn't have a hard time thinking about why he had to be with his dad for one holiday and with his mom for another, they agreed to work a way around it. The boy stayed with Fiona for Christmas Eve and after breakfast the next day, she drove him to Sudbury to celebrate with Chris' family. She even stayed for a bit for her son.

Truth be told, Fiona thought it better for her son to spend the holidays with the Evans rather than her own family. She loves her mom deeply. But sometimes, especially with matters of the heart, Dina Parker could be such a negative Nancy. Chris' ex-wife never wanted her son, or her, to be subjected to a toxic holiday.

She's already having a load full of opinions from her mom and her sister, ever since they found out from the news that she and Chris were getting a divorce. So, ever since she came back to Newton, she sees to it to devote her time with her son and Sweet Escape.

While fixing the pastry display counter at the patisserie, Fiona chats casually with her best friend, Grace, who also happens to be the manager of the bakery cafe.

"This weather is a killer!" Grace remarks while staring out the window. It's already early March but the sky outside is still spewing with snow. "If this keeps up, we might be snowed in. You have got to adopt me for the day."

Fiona grins. "You know you're always welcome upstairs."

She had purchased the entire second and third floors of the patisserie since her business boomed in 2012. It's where she and her son are living now.

Sweet Escape is usually brimming with customers. But because the skies decided to concoct up a near snowstorm, there are barely any people dining in. So, Andy has one table all to himself and his coloring materials.

Fiona glances at his direction before she hears the clanking of the bell from the entrance. A courier enters, along with his messenger bag and a good amount of snowflakes that decorated the dark wooden floor.

"Good day, young man! How may I help you?" Grace's voice is welcoming and cheerful. She's always cheerful, anyway, when it comes to dealing with their customers.

The man rummages through his bag. "There's a package for Fiona Parker."

Fi creases her forehead. She knows no one who would send her a package. "That would be me." When she sees the Manila envelope being handed to her by the courier, her heartbeat stops.

"Kindly sign on here, Ms. Parker." he also hands her an electronic device.

She must have swallowed a good amount of winter air which makes her cough. "It must be freezing out there. Grace," she looks to her friend. "Give him a cup of coffee, on the house."

The manager stares at her for a good while, not because she was giving free drinks, but because her face is stark white. She brushes the hair of Andrew, who's busy with coloring an image of a parrot. "Stay here, sweetheart. Mom's just gonna get something upstairs."
