Glowing

Every memory is a battle and every thought is an argument; there's no hope in tranquility when the only silence I can pervertedly fathom is when my heart no longer beats in my ears.

"Yoongi?" She could see the relief on his face; it was like he found a missing child.

"Fallen?" They stared at each other puzzled at the others' sudden appearance.

"Why are you here?" Fallen questioned.

"Same goes to you and what's with the bottle?" Jin ran around the corner and took in Fallen's disheveled appearance. He opened his mouth to speak but gave a side glance at Yoongi. Jin stumbled to drag Fallen to the back seat of the car. He swung the door open and lightly pushed her in. With a plop, Fallen dropped onto the fresh leather seat, meanwhile her clothes were caked in filth. Before Jin could try to close it, Fallen shifted and gripped the door with her spare hand.

"You mind explaining to me why the very person who can't find out that I'm a demon is standing in the very location that I magically disappeared from?" Jin rushed to quiet her. He put his crooked finger over her twinging lip, momentarily preoccupied with the sudden bombardment of variables. Just then, his eyes met the shattered glass bottle in her grasps. Within a single breath, he jobbled his words together to soothe her irritation.

"I'm sorry, you left his number in the car and I wondered if that's where you were. I contacted Namjoon and he said you weren't in his office. Since you can only glitch to places or people you know I thought you would be with him. When Yoongi heard you were missing he said that he happened to be in the area and wanted to help look for you. I couldn't exactly say that you were possibly on the other side of the planet now could I?" Fallen contemplated crushing the broken glass that rested in her palm.

"You couldn't have just lied and said that you were receiving a call from me and that I was safe?" The more she dealt with Yoongi, the stranger Jin was acting. His lackluster attempts to hide and maintain her identity was suspicious.

"Here, I'll crank up the car so you can turn on the heat, you're shivering." The cold that creaked into Fallen's joints made her slightly docile. Fallen reluctantly shifted her legs into the car and let Jin close the door. After hastily putting the keys into the ignition Jin scurried to explain the situation to Yoongi as discreetly as possible.

"I can't believe him, he's dumb, but he's not that dumb," Fallen mumbled to herself, "when I get my hands on that Dorito chip shaped butler I'm going to-," a mischievous idea flickered in her thoughts. In a bout of spontaneity, she rolled down the window to embarrass her negligent assistant.

"Ji-," with a sharp breath in, Fallen's lips snapped together. Jin was standing across from Yoongi and apologizing. Two people were having a conversation but there were three pairs of eyes present. Something stood behind Yoongi, a hand on his shoulder, acquisitively. They both seemed unaware of its existence as they continued chatting. Fallen's mind was telling her to assess the situation and protect him as hired to but there was one thing that made her choke up. It was the very fact that what was hovering behind Yoongi wasn't a demon, witch, ghoul, ghost, or human. It was the type of being that she shouldn't be able to see. Fallen's heart rate spiked along with her anxiousness.

"N-no way, that's-," she clutched her top as a flicker of an image washed over the glowing being. The profile of a young man, she didn't recognize, pasted itself onto the silhouette of light. Its face was blurred out and distant. She could only describe the strange familiarity with their slim figure as deja vu. Cold sweat soaked Fallen's brow as it's face started to take form. She backed away from the window with the sudden phobia of being able to identify him. There was this intuitive whisper that warned her not to be curious. Defiantly, a name appeared in her thoughts, it was on the tip of her tongue and itched to be said.
