The snow patted firmly under Iris West’s feet as she walked around the city trying to think. The last few weeks had been insane for not just her self but her friends and family. The part that made her think deeply was when her best friend, brother figure, Barry Allen confessed his feelings and told her that he was in love with her, for as long as he remembered, before he even knew what love meant of was and that frightened her slightly, which was why she didn't tell him how she felt the same. The wind and snow where just enough to make her walk not as enjoyable, but she was alone, and for the moment thats how she wanted it.
Iris noticed that the sky was darling so she turned to return home. Just then a car sped by, guns out the window behind it, aiming at the police car following the truck. Iris almost hoped that it wasn't her father in the police cars because they skidded against the ice and crashed into the wall about a block down from where iris was. Iris started to run towards the car as it burst into flames against the white snow.
The scarlet speedster, called the flash, ran through the city towards the Star Labs suddenly over the communication system “Barry, theres a stolen security truck thats going down Trancas and Renivue, get down there to stop them before they get to the cities edge” Barry immediately changed his direction knew there were special items on that truck because of the type of emergency. From a distance he could see the police car that was into the wall of the building with a figure standing close to it. When he approached it he noticed that figure was Iris standing by the car.
With his speed he ran up to the car and flung the door off of the door, releived to not see his best friend's father, Joe West unconsious, but he did recognize them. He put them onto the snow by Iris then moved her away from the wreckage where she was then went to go, but he stopped, and stoppped disgusing his face and looked right into her eyes as she called out his hero name.
"Thank you" Iris whispered and he cuaght on but it seemed as if she meant somehting deeper than just saying thank you for getting the men out of the car before they were severly injured.
The scarlett speedster smiled lightly as he ran and grabbed the door of the truck speeding away and grabbed both men out breaking their guns and throwing them out of the truck.
They were tied up and out of the way, with the car they had been in, it was right beside them for evidence when the police finally came to the scene and an ambulance, Joe came also because the Flash aka Barry Allen had called him to pick up Iris. When Joe arrived Flash was being probed by questions by his daughter still. It was as if Iris could talk as fast as Flash could run. He couldnt stop thinking about her beautiful, green eyes and her lovely mocha skin, and her dark head of hair.
"Iris, stop probing him, lets go" Mr. West said getting out of his car looking over at them. He knew that Barry loved Iris, he could see it while they grew up together, he had also been one of the first to find his secret, that Barry Allen was the flash, Iris's hero.
"Okay Dad, ill be right there..." Iris said turning to go, she suddenly felt a presents right behind her and turned around, there was the Flash standing there looking down on her, his face was calm, his eyes where a light blue and she thought he had to be one of the handsomest men she had ever laid eyes on. Iris snapped out of the gaze then when she blinked he was gone, with no telling where the Flash had gone. "Don't Slip" she smiled before going to the car with her father and leaving the scene.
The scarlet speester sped away, a large smile on his face, he couldnt beleive he and the love of his life shared that kind of connection. Then something dawned on him and he almost froze in place, but then he slipped on a patch of ice on the road and skidded but tripped and fell hard on the rock hard pavement. What he had realized is that Iris West wasnt having that connection with Barry Allen, it was with the Flash. His smile fell from his face as he picked himself off the ground and sped off again, the truth truely hurt.
+With Iris+
As Iris and her father where in the car she looked out the window "Why where you walking out alone, Iris?" her dad asked causually "because i needed to clear my head, recent break up and all, i should be sad that i broke up with him but the thing is i dont know why i did, so i am just so confused"
"Maybe there was someone else that you liked during the time of being with him so you feel guilty?" Joe said looking over at his daughter when they stopped at a stop light. Iris looked at her father, wondering how he couldve asked such a deep question. "Dad... i think you already know who i have always liked" she frowned sadly and looked out the window again.
"Barry? -" Joe started but she stopped him "Yes, but he is dating that girl, Linda Parks from the other department remember? it seems like he really likes her too-" now it was Iris's turn to be interupted "It didnt work out Iris, and he told me his self that it wasn't going to work out because she didnt understand his busy life" her father refrained from telling Iris that Barry actually did love her too, he knew that both would be at his neck for telling that kind of secret.
"Oh...." Iris said looking down as the light turned green and they resumed at speed towards her apartment so he could drop her off and she would be alone, yet again.
+Later+
Iris West was out on her padio typing away at her new reports from the blurr sightings she had been to or ead about in the last few days. She was amazed by the frequent times he would show up and continued to get more interested into who he could possiby could be under the suits mask. There had been storys of him even being in Keystone, the sister gem city to Central. This meant that both cities where both being protected by the one man of the impossible.
Iris was so fascinated by the thought of this real life hero, she needed peopole to know the impossible was possible and existed, she needed to do this for her best friend, Barry Allen whos father had been apparently thrown in jail for "killing" his wife. Barry said that it was a blur of yellow. And Iris beleived him when no one else did, and she would find the man of the impossible.
As the girl wrote quickly, making sure to clean up her grammer and wording mistakes going over not once but twice to make sure they where professional like. Iris smiled looking at the pictue she had luckily gotten of the flash in mid run, she didnt even know how it was possible to get a picture of someone going 700 mph. But she uploaded the picture to her computer and the sight then pressed "enter."
Immediately publishing the report on the Central City and Keystones new hero, The Flash. Her webisites mission was so show that he was no vigilante, but was a hero, the solution to the cities many problems.
He was the fastest man alive.
He was the flash...
