Clarisse made her way to the athena cabin, dodging campers trudging to breakfast. She was sure they were giving her odd looks, what with the hair brush and pink bag in her hand.

She didn't care though.

"Annabeth?" a camper, one of Annabeth's siblings asked Clarisse. Clarisse nodded her head.

"She's in there."

"Thanks."

The camper started their walk to breakfast, slowly dissipating into the crowd of campers walking toward the mess hall.

"Annabeth?" Clarisse asked, shutting the door quietly.

No response. It was quiet in the Athena cabin, until she heard Annabeth sniffle.

"Oh, Annabeth."

Annabeth was huddled into her blankets, her hair strewn everywhere and discarded plates of food surrounded her bed. Her siblings had clearly tried their hardest to get her to eat, but the still-intact food told Clarisse Annabeth hadn't eaten in a while.

Probably since he disappeared.

Clarisse remembered how she felt when they were all gathered in the pavilion and told Percy was gone. She didn't know how to feel. She remembered thinking that the camp would fall apart without him -and she was right-, but she wasn't so close to the guy. Surely this was devastating to Annabeth, she thought, as she looked to the sobbing mess to the left of the stage.

She hadn't talked to Annabeth since leading her to her cabin that night. And that was a week ago.

Clarisse slid her arms under Annabeth and sat her up. She almost couldn't bear to look at the permanently teary eyes that the blankets were no longer covering.

She began brushing Annabeth's hair, careful to avoid the big knots forming in the back.

Clarisse thought back to before the Battle of Manhattan, and how normally Silena would be helping her. She'd know just what to say to Annabeth and exactly how to say it.

But Silena was gone. So it was up to her.

"He's out there somewhere. We'll find him. I know we will." Clarisse wasn't sure how Silena-like that sounded, but she thought it sounded pretty okay.

Annabeth responded with more tears.

"Come on." Clarisse slid her hand along Annabeth's cheek. "Let's go to breakfast."

"It's okay, I know someday i'm gonna be with you." Annabeth mouthed to herself. She repeated it as a mantra on her way to breakfast, and until she saw him again.
