"My fate... with you."
The time was not perfect, but he knew this day would come. He... believed her. Those words really gave his feelings a zing rather than a denial. He took off his cowl to give her comfort. Diana's eyes were wide. Then, he gently wiped her tears and tucked her hair behind her ears. Locking his eyes into hers while holding her hands, he said,
"I'm listening, Princess."
The princess gazed into his shiny hazel eyes, shell-shocked. She could feel his warmth of understanding and believing. Bruce wrapped his hands around her back. They were very close. Was it time to confess? Under the sunset, they leaned into each other and closed their eyes, hoping to feel... a kiss.
BUT, before their lips could even touch, Bruce pulled back. He realized she was running out of time and for some reason, he... had to.
"I-I'm sorry, Di. Forgive me..."
"What? Bruce..." Diana was stunned.
"Get out, Cat. I know you're there," Bruce said to one of the temple's pillars behind them. He knew they were not alone. Just then, a woman in black cat suit showed herself from the shadows. Catwoman.
"Aw, I just wanted to see how you used to kiss me," she chuckled. Bruce sighed and tried not to react to that. "Plus, I paid Alfred a little visit. We found something. Harley Quinn has Julia Kapatelis," she added.
"Julia?! Why Julia?" Diana was shocked after hearing that name.
"No idea, Princess. Whatever it is, we need to act quickly!" Catwoman answered.
"Let's go," he said after putting on his bat cowl.
"I'm going with you!" Diana followed them. However, he stopped her right away.
"No. It's too dangerous. Leave Gotham, Diana. I mean it," he said in a warning tone.
"I will not leave until Julia—"
STACK!! STACK!! CRACKK!!
Catwoman slammed her down with her bullwhip before Diana finished her sentence. She managed to restrain her on the ground. The so-called Wonder Woman could have just rebled easily, but as she saw Batman was really walking away from her, she chose not to.
"You heard the Bat. Leave. It's for your own good, Your Highness," Cat pressed her. Then, she let her go and followed Batman to the Batmobile, leaving Diana.
Shattered, confused, and downhearted. These feelings were stabbing her over and over. Then, she realized she behaved nothing as Wonder Woman, but worse than a fragile woman. She thought to herself while looking up at the sky, what was she doing? What was she thinking?
However, deep down, she knew she had to put her sentiments aside for her duty as a patriot. Julia... her mother and guardian in this world of men was in danger. With or without the caped crusader, she would not rest until Julia was safe.
Just as she was about to get off the ground, suddenly, Diana heard a murmur voice, calling her name.
"Diana..."
"Who's there?" Feeling a threat, she raised her sword and looked around. She found nobody, but the voice was getting louder, as if it was coming to her. The air was freezing. Then, from the darkest side of the temple, a black spirit emerged.
"Princess... Diana..." the spirit was calling her.
"Who are you?!"
Just that, before swinging her sword, the spirit directly possessed her! Her veins started to show, her skin turned pale, and her eyes turned bloody red.
"RRAAAAHHH!! NOO!!" Shescreamed in real pain and struggled to fight it, but it was too powerful.Gradually, her vision went all black.
