Chapter 5
The Next Day...(Again LOL)
It was early in the morning when there was a knock at the door. Alec looked at the Cheshire Cat alarm clock: 7:30. Alec yawned and put his clothes back on and stumbled out of bed a little. Not just from being suddenly woken up, but from last night's pony ride as it were. He somehow by some miracle managed to get to the front door, opening it to find his Mother standing there with the information he needed.
"Good morning my Son. I didn't wake you did I?" She asked with a cheery disposition.
"Well.... Yes you did....but that's ok... come on in. You can set the stuff on the coffee table. "
Maryse nodded and set the 4 piles of paperwork on the coffee table.
"Tea?" Alec asked, reaching for one of the bottles Simon brought, pouring it into a mug and then microwaving it. Cold blood in the morning always bothered him. So he liked to warm it up a bit. Maryse couldn't help but be a little squeamish at the sight of it.
"Yes, that'd be nice. "She replied.
"Good. " Alec mumbled, still groggy. The microwave beeped and he took out his F.r.i.e.n.d.s mug and sipped it, putting the kettle on. 'Ah...' Alec thought, as that warm blood felt really good going down his throat. A moment ago his Mother's vein in her neck was popping , and to Alec, it felt like he was a cat with a teaser toy waved in front of his face just waiting to be pounced at. Once the kettle was whistling Alec then poured the hot water in with the tea bag. He handed it to his Mother, along with a spoon and cream n sugar. He took a seat across from his Mother, sipping his blood.
"Um, did you sleep all right?" Maryse asked. Alec nodded and sipped his blood, his Mother cringes again.
"Yes actually. I always sleep well with Magnus. He may sting like a bee as a Warlock, but when we cuddle he's like a baby rabbit. " Alec swooned, sipping his mug. "So, did you sleep well Mother?" Alec asked, sipping from his mug again. He was really thirsty. He wondered when the hell this constant bloodlust would end. Simon told him it wasn't until 2 months that his bloodlust settled. Seemed like an awfully long time.
"No. I haven't slept a wink. I did extensive research on you all night. I found in the ancient text of our clan that Haneda actually had a choice on rather or not to keep her immortality. She stopped the uprising as promised and the Angel Raziel gave her a choice. Keep your immortality or I'll take it back. Don't you see Alec? You can be cured. You can go back to your old self. "
" What's wrong with my new self? Huh?" Alec asked, clearly annoyed.
"Nothing sweetheart. It's just. You're going to be frozen, forever. You can never have children-"
"Yes I could Mother. "Alec interrupts. "I'm only half remember? I can still reproduce. A fellow Downworlder can surrogate for us. I'll be fine. " Alec sips his mug, his Mother continues.
"Yes, but child will be-"
"Will be what Mother? A little different? They'll still be my child. Oh I see how it is, you want "normal grandchildren " You want me to have a "normal life" Right? Well guess what, without Magnus, life isn't even worth living. Plus, I don't want to end up as one of his many collections of items from me to be in the same box as his other loves. I'm not letting him go through that again. " Alec downs the rest of his blood, then rinses his mug in the sink. His Mother sighed, finishing her tea.
"So that's it then Alec? You're going to walk this world forever?"
"Yes, hand in hand with Magnus. " Alec retorts.
