Chapter 8: news

Today the little ones go to the doctor. Mark had to go help wade and bob (let's say they are in town). Jack and I went in. We waited for our doctor to let us in. I had raven, jack had Dillon.

"(You're name) and Sean. Please come follow me." A nurse lady said smiling. We followed her to the back. The doctor was already in there.

"Hello! Please set the little ones on this bed." The doctor said siting down. (The bed thingy is a small bed for babies. It looks like a soft table). He did the usually check up. Checking there ears, eyes, breathing, making sure nothing is wrong with them. Raven was done first. When he was checkin Dillon..he didn't look to happy with checkin his hearing. I looked at Sean kinda worried.

"Maybe he made a mistake on something? I mean it happens." Sean whispered. The Doctor checked his hearing again. He won't a few things down and looked at us.
"Dillon...is deaf." The doctor said with no emotion.
"What do you mean he's deaf? Just this morning he was hearing the tv and laughing." Sean said kinda mad/worried.
"Mr.Sean, this happens to some babies. He's completely healthy but just deaf. He was only laughing because of the movement and colors on the screen. You're son just can't hear. My recommendation is either learning sign language, investing in hearing aids or finding a tutor to help him understand us hearing people." The doctor replied.
"Will he be able to learn everything else like raven can?" I asked.
"Yes, just at a slight slower pace."

~after leaving the doctors~
Sean sat in the back with the babies. Next appointment was next Thursday for Dillon and in two weeks for Raven.

"You ok Sean?" I asked.
"Yeah..sorry about back there..I would have never thought my son would be deaf...what are we gonna do?" Sean asked.
"I think learning sign language is a best choice...maybe a hearing aid..." I suggested.
"I agree. I'll look up on how the hearing aids cost."

-we get back home-
Mark was home. We entered.
"MAAAARRRRRK" Sean screeched. No answer.
"Must be asleep. I'll go check." I shrugged. I walked into marks room....horrified. Mark was in bed with another women!!!
"(You're name)...I-...I-....I can explain!" Mark said. I ran to Sean.
"Get mark out of here!" Sean was confused. Looked up to see and a naked mark with a sheet covering his lower half running down the stairs.
"Mark! You just became a father!!!" Sean screamed. I took the little ones outside in the backyard so they wouldn't be around the yelling. I just sat there with them. Raven was fast asleep but Dillon was up and just looking around. I held him while raven was in her car seat still. I knew only the alphabet in sign language. I started signing his name to him. He only got d, l and i.

'Whats gonna happen now...?' I thought.
