Song: Wish You Were Sober by Conan Gray

Again. I was standing in the corner of the room, watching the commotion go on around me. Multicolored, blinding party lights flashed throughout the room, garbage music blasted through my ears, giving me a headache. Red solo cups were placed on every surface, some laying on the floor, the entire house reeked of alcohol. Bodies were pressed against each other because of the packed room. This definitely wasn't my crowd, I hated every bit of it.

"
Nineteen but you act twenty-five now
Knees weak, but you talk pretty proud, wow Ripped jeans and a cup that you just downed
                                                                                          "

I watched from a distance as everyone danced, caring about nobody else accept the familiar, black haired boy who was wasted on the dance floor. A cup was in his right hand, filled with alcohol which spilled every time he danced against someone. I couldn't seem to stop staring, my eyes were locked onto his body. His hair was a mess, whipped everywhere. His shirt was soaked with vodka in different spots, causing it to cling to his body. He moved so smoothly as he danced, his hips turning with every beat of the song, his body rolling, his hands moving up and down his body, god... how bad I ache for his touch.

" Take me where the music ain't too loud "

How bad I wished we would just get out of here, me and him. Drive somewhere quiet, alone. But this is what he enjoyed, getting wasted at teenage house parties. I was always stuck making sure he made it home safe, he is my bestfriend after all. I sighed, pushing my way through the crowd and walking into the kitchen. The kitchen had bottles everywhere, varieties of punch bowls scattered across the counter top. I opened the fridge, spotting some apple juice. I pulled it out, unscrewing the cap and reaching for a solo cup. I poured- well attempted to pour myself some apple juice until my cup was knocked out of my hand. I looked up with an angry expression, but my gaze softened when I seen who it was.

"Kenmaaa, why are you drinking apple juiceeee? Have a shotttt." A wasted Kuroo said, pushing a filled shot glass into my hands.

I looked at the glass in disgust, taking it from Kuroos hand and setting it on the counter behind me.

"Okay, you've had one too many glasses, it's time to go home now." I said, grabbing Kuroos arm and leading him into the living room.

"Whyyy? I'm having fun. Don't you know what fun is babeeee?" He slurred his words, but I froze at the last word. Babe? No. It's the alcohol.

"I'm not your babe, now let's go." I shut the front door behind us, shuffling through my pockets until I grabbed my keys.

I opened the passenger door to my car, pushing Kuroo inside and shutting the door behind him. I walked over to the drivers side, sighing as I got into the car and cranked it up.

"Kuroo, there's water in the backseat, drink it." I scolded him, driving towards his house.

"Mhmmm." Kuroo mumbled as he grabbed the water bottle from the backseat, chugging it all in one swift motion.

We continued to drive, Kuroo mumbling inaudible sentences about going back to the party, which I obviously ignored. But one thing I couldn't ignore, when Kuroo started complaining he had to throw up. I pulled over at some random spot on the side of the road, letting Kuroo stumble out of the car and puke his brains out. I almost felt bad watching him, almost. After he finally finished, he got back into the car.

"Drink more water." I said, handing him another bottle, which he took and began drinking.

"You know, you're too good to me Kenma." He said, leaning towards my face.

"It's my job Kuroo, you're my bestfriend and I look after your dumbass when you make stupid decisions."

"But I mean it, you're so caring, and you're always there. And my favorite thing about these situations, is that you look so cute when you're concerned about me."

My cheeks flushed red. He leaned in closer, I could feel his warm breath on my lips, the scent of alcohol lingering.

" Kiss me in the seat of your Rover "

"What are you-"

I felt his soft lips connect with mine. My eyes widened, but soon fluttered shut as I took in the moment. Kuroo moved his lips with mine, lifting his hand and placing it on my face. I kissed back harder, deepening the kiss. Kuroo then licked my bottom lip, signaling for me to let his tongue in. I granted him entrance, feeling his warm tongue feel around my mouth. He left no part of my wet cavern untouched, kissing me deeply. We continued to make out, getting lost in the moment, until I realized what was happening. I pulled away, staring into his hazel eyes, he began to smirk.

" Real sweet, but I wish you were sober    "

"Kuroo stop." I backed away.

"But what if I don't want to stop?" His devilish smirk not leaving his face.

Oh how I wanted to continue, to feel his body on mine.

"You're drunk. You don't actually want this." I said, mumbling the last part under my breath.

He laid back on the seat, gazing out of the window. I cranked the car back up, continuing to drive home in silence.

One we reached his house, I helped him out of the car and into his house, grabbing some snacks out of the kitchen and walking him up the stairs. I opened the door to his room, laying him down on his bed. Thankfully his parents weren't home to see him wrecked like this.

"Kuroo, eat these, It will help." I said, handing him a pack of crackers In which he accepted.

"Thank you." He said, staring into my eyes, I stared back into his gaze, our eyes locking together.

"I- I'm going to go now." I said, breaking our gaze and turning towards the door.

I tried to walk away, but a hand tugged me backwards.

"Please stay." Kuroo begged, his eyes showing signs of need.

"Okay..." I said, laying on the other side of the bed, switching off the lamp.

Kuroo wrapped his arms around me, the warmth consuming my petite body. I stared at the ceiling for a while, until I heard quiet snores coming from Kuroo, meaning he had fallen asleep. I carefully lifted his arm off of me, the calming warmth now gone. I tip-toed across the room, making my way towards the door. I looked back at the peacefully sleeping Kuroo sprawled out on the bed, watching the rise and fall of his chest. A sad smile crept onto my face as I spoke,

"If only you could've been sober."
