Vacation Fling

Today was your first day of work. You couldn't sleep last night due to nerves and excitement. When your alarm went off, it had given you quite a spook. Looking at your phone, there was an email from your new boss saying to come straight to his office for a quick meeting.

Now you were in the elevator on your way up to the Behavioral Analysis Unit of the FBI. It had taken six years to be able to ride this elevator. Sure, six years is nothing compared to how long it takes others to get into the BAU, but it still felt like a lifetime. Even though you had the job and everything was set in place, you still couldn't believe it was actually happening. The elevator dinged, pulling you out of your thoughts. Now that you were here, your had no clue where to go.

"Excuse me, where is Aaron Hotcher's office?" you asked a woman with dark hair.

"The first door up those stairs. I'm Emily Prentiss." She held her hand out to shake and you took it.

"Thank you. I'm Y/N Y/L/N, nice to meet you."

"Ooohh so you're the new agent."

"Yeah today's my first day. I better get going, don't want to be late on the first day. Once again nice meeting you."

Walking up the stairs, you weren't as nervous as you thought you would be. Maybe talking to someone apart of the team helped with that?

*Knock Knock Knock*

"Come in. Agent Y/L/N take a seat" he gestured toward the chair in front of him. "I wanted to have a quick meeting before introducing you to the rest of the team. I noticed there was some paperwork missing."

Oh. Crap.

"Yeah. It's supposed to be sealed off due to personal reasons."

"That's all right. As your boss, i'm required to know what's sealed off and why."

Great. Now he was gonna know you lied on your job application.

"When I was 16, I was kidnapped and in the process my parents were killed. Obviously I was found, but the details of what happened to me and my parents are sealed off. I didn't want to see that every time I applied for a job"

"In this file it says your parents were killed in a car accident?"

"Hahah I...um...kinda lied about that. I'm sorry, I thought it would be ok since it was sealed off. I wouldn't have done that if I knew you were required to know what was in there..." Suddenly a knock on the door stopped you from rambling.

"Sorry to interrupt, but we have a case." A woman with long blonde hair held up a case file.

"Thank you JJ. Agent Y/L/N this is Agent Jareau."

"Nice to meet you. Please, call me JJ." she held her hand out to you with a bright smile.

"JJ, can you gather everyone for a briefing? Agent Y/L/N, lets go meet the rest of the team. We'll also continue our discussion when we get back."

With that, you were walking toward the round table room.

"This is Y/N Y/L/N. She'll be joining the team."

A very colorful woman gave you a big hug before you could get anything out. "I'm Penelope Garcia. I already know we're going to be best friends." Wide eyed, you laughed and nodded.

You only recognized one person, David Rossi. His books and what happened to you as a teen made you want to join the BAU. Shaking his hand, he smelled faintly of wine and pasta.

"Well Y/N, you sure are a piece of eye candy. I'm Derek Morgan." Giggling, you shook his hand, although his seemed to linger.

Everyone else said their hello's when a man with a messy hair and a satchel came running in.

"Sorry I'm late. I missed my bus."

OH FUCK. NO WAY. THIS WAS NOT HAPPENING RIGHT NOW.

His eyes met yours and widened. Of course he recognized you. Stupid fucking eidetic memory. This was Spencer Reid....your vacation fling.

"That's fine Reid. Everyone is allowed to be late, once. This is Y/N Y/L/N, she'll be joining the team."

"H-Hello." He held his hand out for you to shake.

"Woah pretty boy shaking hands. He must agree with me about Y/N being eye candy."

Spencer's face flushed a deep red and he quickly snatched his hand away.

"Now that you're all introduced, we should start on the case." Aaron said in a stern voice.

On the jet ride, Reid sat as far away from you as possible. Looking up, you saw Reid staring at you. He quickly looked down at the case file, pulling out his phone. You took your phone out  feeling a buzz, seeing a text from him.

Spencer: Why are you here? Why in the BAU?

Y/N: Look. Don't make this weird. It was a little fling. That's what we agreed on. Plus we said we weren't going to tell each other our jobs. 👁👄👁🤚🏼

Spencer: Sorry. I don't mean to make this weird. It was just shocking to see you again.

Y/N: That's ok. It was shocking for me too. We should probably keep this professional.

Spencer: I was thinking the same thing. You know the one thing we didn't get to do?

Y/N: What?

Spencer: What did you call it. Mile high club.

Y/N: huh i've never heard of that?

Spencer: Meet me in the bathroom in 10?

Y/N: Might not be able to wait that long
