Ryuji's Date and Realization

Ryuji woke up in pain and looked around. Mishima was in front of him and immediately smile.

"Hey there, babe. How long was I out?" Ryuji asked trying to sit up.

"Only for 3 or 4 hours. I've been waiting for you this whole time." Mishima replied.

"Well can you help me home? My legs feel kinda sore after Akira..."

"Hey, let's not talk about it. Let's just get you home."

Mishima put Ryuji's arm over his shoulder and started to slowly walk to the station. As they were making their way to the train station, they ran into Futaba.

"Hi Futaba. How's Akira?" Ryuji asked trying to make a small smile.

"Why does it even concern you? If you do care about him, why don't you asked him yourself? He certainly doesn't need you around with your boyfriend. I have to get going. I have somethings to pick up." She said walking away angrily.

"Ryuji, I think we should just keep going. I know this is hurting you a lot, but it's fresh. It'll wash over eventually." Mishima said, with a smile.

"If you say so."

They finally made it to the station and got in. They were getting a lot of stares from other people and just felt a lot of discomfort. When they reached to their stop, they rushed out quickly and to Mishima's surprise Ryuji could walk fine despite his injuries.

"Ryuji, I know it's kinda late, but I was wondering after we get you cleaned up, go on a date to the arcade and the burgers like you said. It's only 7 P.M., the arcade closes at 9 P.M., and the Big Bang Burger is open 24/7. What do you say?"

"Sure why not. Staying at home is boring and I want to see my beautiful boyfriend's face." He said as he leans it for a kiss.

People were walking by giving disgusted looks, but they didn't care. They had no shame for kissing in public and Ryuji was happy to finally be in a relationship he wanted to be in. They broke the kiss and smiled at each other. Both of them held hands from the rest of the way to Ryuji's apartment and were smiling the whole time. It was then Ryuji saw Akira waiting for him by his apartment door.

"Oh hi Akira! What brings you here?" Ryuji asked with an attempted smile.

"I need to talk to you alone. If you be so kind Mishima, to go in ahead so I can talk to Ryuji here." Akira said looking at Ryuji with his straight face.

Mishima nodded in agreement and headed inside. Ryuji stood there examining Akira's body. Up close, he was very pale and had huge eye bags. His eyes were red and it looked he had been crying all day yesterday and today.

Akira took a deep breath and asked, "Do you know why I'm here?"

"If you're expecting me to forgive, then you wouldn't be here cause I-"

"No! I'm here to tell you that I love you Ryuji. I'm being completely honest. The first day we met, I felt this feeling in me that I've never met before. Like as if there were butterflies in my stomach. That was when later as we went on our adventures that you liked me as well in which my feelings for you grew immensely. I kept a straight face cause I didn't want you to know that I liked you. I thought it wouldn't feel right and the time was not right. I wanted to wait for the perfect moment, but I was too late. You're with Mishima now and I will respect that. As much as I want to be with you, you decided Mishima and I will let you be happy with him. Now if you'll excuse me. I need to head to Mementos."

"W-wait!"

Before Ryuji could say anything, Akira walked quickly and Ryuji shouted quickly, "I'll be by your side always!"
