Draco's POV:

I was in love with Hermione Zabini.

The shock hit me like a tsunami. People don't even fall in love that fast, I wasn't in love with her, it was just a small crush, right?  She finished explaining and Slughorn told us to brew the potion on his table with our desk partners. I was on a table with Hermione, Potter, and Weaselette. I smiled at Hermione who was looking over, she was smart, Potter and I were good at potions and Weaselette was bossy and would make sure we all did it right. I was an almost too perfect planning. We all got onto it right away. Weaselette went and got the ingredients with Potter under the instruction of Hermione, in my heart I was hoping she did that so we could have alone time, but I knew it was because she knew Weaselette would demand good quality ingredients and Potter would make sure the were the right ones and keep his fiance under control. We all placed our designated ingredients in the correct order and soon we had a perfectly brewed potion. We all jumped at the sound of that Seamus kids potion exploding in his face, which was normal for him. I quickly learned that the potion would change how we look for a day, and I was excited to see what we would all turn out like. Slughorn let us try our potion since it was perfect and we all headed out into the corridor for our early mark.

We all took a sip of the potion from the small bottle Hermione had gotten and the results were almost instant. Hermione's hair went blonde and her eyes turned green. Potter went blonde too and his eyes went brown instead of the green Hermione had gained. Weaselette became a brunette and her eyes turned hazel. But everyone was laughing most at my transformation as we passed around the mirror, I took it in hand and looked at my reflection. My hair had gone weasly red and my eyes had gone blue. Everyone was laughing at my shocked expression.

"'Mione" I whined. "Is there an antidote?"

"Not that I know, and if I didn't I wouldn't tell you, this is way too funny." She doubled over in laughter like a madwoman clutching her stomach as if she laughed more, she would burst. Potter was giggling like a school girl while Weaslette tormented me about my new look. Everyone else filed out of the classroom with different looks. But no-one was as humiliated as me. Everyone was joking about my new look.

"Well Hermione looks like a Malfoy." I stated, she giggled. "What's so funny?" I asked.

"Well, at least I'm living up to my role." She said this so only the group could hear and all of us laughed.

"Not yet." I muttered. "Remember, we're not married and we probably won't be for a while."  I said this only to her and that reminded us we were still only friends who were in an arranged marriage. A silence fell between us as the awkwardness of the fact that we only friends settled in, well for me, she may have just been unsettled that I thought she thought we were married, but that was over thinking is.

"C'mon" I said, "we've got to get to family Studies."

Hermione's POV:

What he said was rather strange, about us not being married for a while. We were like 18, we had 1 year to get married, not that is mattered anyway, he looked deep in thought but quickly recovered and we headed off to Family Studies. We entered the classroom, we were instructed to sit by our fiances. Draco and I settled at a table, Draco on the right and I on the left. Ginny sat by me on the table next to ours beside Harry, with Blaise and Luna who had joined us for Family Studies on Draco's right. Ron and Lavender took the table in front of Ginny and Harry as the other students tried to find seats.

"Welcome to Family Studies!" A plump smiling lady walked into the room, she had red cherry cheeks and a smile as wide as it would go. She looked very excited. I smiled at her joy, her passion radiated throughout the room. Everyone seemed to be in a good mood, despite the reason we were in this room. "I am your teacher, Professer. Powell (Pronounced Pow-well)   and today we will be working on partnership. I am a  happily married woman, with 5 children."

Some people gasped at the number but anyone who knew the Weasly's knew that some people had more than 5 children.  Ginny had scoffed at this and Harry and I laughed knowing that she thought that was nothing to her 5 older brothers, which used to be 6 but now with Fred gone it was just 5 older brothers.

"Yes, I know 5 children seems like alot but there are people who have more..." She eyed Ginny and Ron  and then laughed merrily. Her hair was in a bonnet, very old for 1999. But is suited her. She wore a red dress which bought out the red flush of her cheeks and a creame apron which was tied around her body. "You are going to get to know your partner, but before that you are going to tell eachother what you want in a partner, you may find you meet eachother's critria."

She beamed at all of us in knowing smile as if she knew we were all going to end up happily wed. Not all of us were. I peered at Draco who was listning intently, he must of felt my eyes on him as he turned his face to me and smirked slightly making me turn away to listen in. It was then I realised we were going through the course for the next year and were talking about the topic of children. My face went red as I realised what he must be thinking.

I leaned my face over to him and whispered "Weasly" It was my turn to smirk at him. He rolled his eyes and returned to the teacher.

"Alright now begin."

Draco turned to me.

"You weren't listening were you?" He looked at me then smirked. "To busy staring at me ehhh Granger?" He wiggeled his eyebrows. I rolled my eyes.

"Zabini."

 "What?" He looked confused.

"I'm not a Granger, I'm a Zabini."

"Oh yeah right. Sorry."

"Malfoys saying sorry now eh?" I smirked.

He rolled his eyes. "Okay Zabini  what are you looking for in a partner?"

"Hey! I thought we were on a first name basis now?"

"Well you called me Malfoy."

"That's because you called me Granger. And then you called me Zabini so it's fair."

"No it's not."

"Whatever, give me a minute to think." I started wondering, what did I want in a partner?

Draco's POV:

She furrowed her eyebrows in concentration. I knew what I wanted in a partner, and I knew Hermione didn't meet all of it. But what I do know is Hermione is what I need. The perfect girl was nothing compared to Hermione which sounds sappy but its true. To me anyway.

"Well I guess..." I looked down at her my attention fully on her. "Someone who will always support me and love me, who isn't afraid of a little debate, I'd want to grow old with him and him with me, his family with love me and my family will love him." She blushed slightly and continued. "Not someone I can live with." I was confused. Did she not want to be with me, did her heart belong to someone else? She continued. "Someone I can't live without." I felt relieved, I wanted to give her what she wanted, make her happy and make up from who I was to her in the past. She looked up at me and blushed. "Can you do that?"

I was taken aback but heard myself whisper:

 "I'll try."
