We should take this back to my place
That's what she said right to my face

Your laughter filled the air as Kenma's glinting, golden orbs snapped to the left to meet your creased, crescent-shaped eyes.

Huh?" Kenma's heart skipped a single beat.

"I forgot to charge my Switch!" You whined. Through several slits between the sky and the spring green tree leaves protecting you and Kenma from the heat, lines of sunlight kissed your skin. "So I can't play Animal Crossing until it's on again."

"You should've charged it." Kenma grumbled. His grip around the attached switch controllers tightened as he spoke. Seeing this, you huffed and crossed your arms, turning your back to the older, two tone haired male.

"Do you want to keep playing or not?" You retorted, slightly turning your head to the right to observe Kenma from the corner of your eye. "I'll never water your flowers again if you don't let me charge my Switch at hoooome~"

By the way you could feel Kenma's eyes shooting bullets into the back of your head, you could tell that your singsongy tone and teasing demeanor were really starting to rile him up. Kenma contemplated whether he should give up on getting hybrids and go home or cede to your wishes and obtain blue roses.

Sighing, he eyed his droopy island. Needs more blue. "Fine. I'll come over." He conceded. He'd wanted to avoid getting you alone in an enclosed space with him because his stupid heart wouldn't stop beating a mile a minute whenever he was around you lately.

'Cause I want you bad,
Yeah, I want you baby

The train ride home was pleasant yet nerve wracking in its own right. Kenma had leaned over your shoulder as you showed off an RPG you downloaded from the app store. "You'd think this company would try to capitalize on the fact that going to new dungeons requires energy points," You explained, looking up at Kenma only for your breath to sharply hitch. He'd all but shoved his face into your phone screen, minimizing the distance between your faces. His soft eyelashes and smooth skin came into your view, causing you to tense up. Fortunately, the few people on your train were too focused on talking to loved ones on the phone or scrolling through social media to see your flushed cheeks. "but you can actually replenish your energy by defeating enemies marked with this." Suppressing your thoughts, you pointed to a shiny, blue lightning mark tattooed onto a monster's arm. Kenma nodded in awe. You handed him your phone so he could test the game for himself. The moment his eyes were off of you, you allowed your guard to come down–just for a little. Your eyes flickered to Kenma's slightly parted lips.

I've been thinking 'bout it all day

His lips looked especially soft today. You watched as he lightly bit at his bottom lip, eyeing the way his jaw  tensed and relaxed in accordance with his sharpening focus on the game.

And I hope you feel the same way

Unbeknownst to you, Kenma was trying his hardest to make it seem like he was concentrating on the game, with great difficulty. Clammy hands clasped at both ends of your phone as he willed his heart to calm down. An unfamiliar neediness shot through Kenma, racing through his legs, and gathering at his feet. The residual butterflies in his stomach did nothing to distract him of his thoughts of you. He'd been able to hide his feelings for weeks, but why was today so much more difficult than the rest?

'Cause I want you bad
Yeah I want you baby

The door to your bedroom slammed open. You inhaled deeply, grabbing your Nintendo Switch from your bag before tossing the sack to the corner of your room. A TV perched on top of a brown dresser was square against the middle wall.  Detaching your Switch controllers from the rectangular device, you fit the console into the black dock and took a seat on your bed a few feet away from Kenma, who had turned on your TV. Your Animal Crossing character faded into the screen and you beelined for the airport, passing haphazardly tossed DIY furniture along the way. Once you'd arrived at his island, you and Kenma began your watering session, covering every inch of flowery land with water as if it was the last time you ever would.
