SHOULD I TRUST THEM?...

We sat like that for a while (after Nathaniel and Kaelyn stopped talking) in silence.Until I heard a growl... uh oh... I forgot about Toothless! I looked up and saw Toothless with a vicious look, teeth bared and eyes in slits. He looked at Kaelyn and Nathaniel exactly like how he looked at me when we first met in the forest. Threatened. He started walking slowly towards us.

"T-Toothless calm down okay? They haven't done anything to hurt me. They're actually very nice people and are not-" "GRRR-"

He stopped me mid-sentence and growled loudly.

I sighed "You've given me no choice bud" I stood up holding my blanket against me while trying to tie on my right shoulder and the bottom (so I wasn't completely naked). I walked up to him and kneeled down in front of him and started to scratch him under the chin.

I had to give a small smile and a giggle because Toothless started to purr, it was so cute! In the corner of my eye, I saw Kaelyn and Nathaniel in a fighting stance but looked like they were calming down and looking at me with shock.

I looked back at Toothless who was pushing his head closer to my chest. I lifted his head up and kissed his nose lightly. I had to stop myself from laughing at his expression. His ears were pointing straight up he had a shocked like expression his face. If a dragon could blush he would be red-cheeked and looking even cuter!

After he got over his shock he tried to hide his face in my chest. I just continued patting his head. His eyes were not slitted anymore.I didn't even notice when Kaelyn and Nathaniel came forward to see us better.

" It's so adorable how you two get along" I blushed a it at Nathaniel's words.

"T-thanks... He's my best friend. I know everything about him and the same for him..."

There was silence...

"Hiccup... We brought both of you here for a reason it's that...well... would you like to uh... would you like to talk to Toothless? And I mean as a human not dragon you, already do that very well anyway so-"

"Hold on just a second! What do you mean talk to Toothless in human? He's a dragon! He can't talk like a human!"

"For now he can't but we, well, I-"(Nathan makes a upset sound)"know how. I now this is hard to believe. You don't know us, or our world and you probably don't trust us because we just met and under the circumstances and all but we are good people. We aren't going to hurt you guys okay? But we need your permission, and I mean from both of you." Kaelyn carried on.

I don't know. What should I do? I mean... I've always wanted to have a proper conversation with Toothless in human but... what if they're lying? What if they are trying to capture us? I don't even know where we are and I'm-No calm down! I don't know but there is this funny feeling I have like when I cuddled with Nathaniel.

It's this feeling in my gut telling me that... well... I don't know what but it's making me wanna trust them. Maybe I should try and see how it goes? I feel this... connection with them... No I'm over thinking let's just see how this goes.

I knelt down in front of Toothless again. "What about it bud? You wanna see how it goes? You can always burn them if they try to hurt us." I suggested. Nathaniel started talking in a high-pitched voice "That will NOT be necessary! Please don't do that!"

I giggled " I was only kidding" "oh" he blushed lightly.

Kaelyn coughed ,smirking a bit, "ANyway sooo are we doing this or not?"

I looked at Toothless and he nodded. "Yes we are. What do we have to do?"

"Hiccup, you'll go with Kaelyn and Toothless will go with me." Nathaniel said

We both got up slowly and walked to them separately.
