Chapter 25

Evian had spent the last half of a period in a state that almost drove her insane. The need generated by the water left her exhausted and sore in places she does not want to think about now that the effects have worn off. The only problem is that now the memories of the processing have reasserted themselves in her mind and are much worse than the spiced water effects were.

The cut on her breast had leaked blood continuously because her heart was pounding so hard, as she experienced her deep need. It had run down her body in streaks that made her look like an animal that had just finished a fight with another and had barely won.

She had managed to sleep for a short while, because of the exhaustion, but now the door to her cell was being opened again. She looks up from the mat in the corner as the large Shril from before steps in. He looks down at her and opens his mouth slightly to show the sharp needle-like teeth to her. "Did you have a good sleep? You still seem a little shaken from the water. Do you want some more?"

Evian shakes her head quickly. The thoughts of the moles being processed is bad enough, but the strength of the water makes her lose all control, and that is hard for someone who has always been in control her whole life. She again remembers her former life and the fact that it is now also gone, which just adds to the mental confusion she is experiencing. "No, just leave me alone, please."

Jard shakes his massive head from side to side. "Sorry, I can't do that. It seems that certain groups want some information from your partner, about an event that happened throughout the night a couple of periods ago. I was wondering if you could shed some light on this issue, for me."

"I have no idea what you are talking about. Adam is the smart one, he knows everything, but I doubt if he will even talk to you while you have me locked up in here," fires back Evian, with more conviction than she feels right now.

Jard squats down slightly, resting most of his weight on his tail, as he leans forward onto his powerful legs. "We will see how much he knows. But that does not concern me right now. I have three periods to wait for the meeting to take place, and then I will have the two of you to play with."

"I will not tell you anything. You are nothing but a big bully who thinks he is more than what he truly is."

"You wound me gravely. I am only thinking of providing you with a simple distraction to help pass the time till you are reunited with your male," smiles Jard sweetly, with his teeth showing his intent.

"What could you possible do to entertain me, short of watching you die slowly in an icy cold watery tub, as you slowly sink below the surface, unable to stop yourself because the blood has stopped flowing through your cold blooded, soon to be, corpse."

Jard's whole body shakes as he chuckles deeply at her remark. "You are good. I am going to enjoy helping you pass some time, as we both wait for the inevitable outcome to arrive."

He stands suddenly. "You must be hungry after your enjoyment of the spiced water. Allow me to take you from these drab surroundings to a place I like to sit as I enjoy my meals."

He turns and opens the door and exits, before stepping to the side motioning for her to follow him. "Come my dear, I will not hurt you. It is one of the conditions of my detainment of you, which is that you are to be unharmed when you meet your partner at the meeting."

She cautiously walks to the open door and steps through. The guard has the only door to the smaller block of cells opened for them to exit. Jard walks through the door, as he calls back over his shoulder. "Come my pet, I have a special meal prepared for you."

Evian walks through the outer door to the long hallway as the guard follows behind her and closes the massive door behind them. She follows Jard through the rest of the larger cells, some with groups of Moles waiting solemnly for their fate. They move out into the main hallway that runs along the length of the Fortress. She remembers the area from their race through the Fortress after they had arrived through The Sphere.
