Maddie's POV:
I layed in bed, staring at the ceiling. I was so peaceful, until my ten year old sister barges in. "Hey Mad- WOAH! Your eyes look wierd! Are you an alien? How many fingers am I holding up? Boy you need a tan, and a hamburger! You look so thin and weak. Ill go make a bur-" "SHUT UP!" I shout at my sister, Mackenzie, forgetting she's only trying to help. She bursts into tears. "Oh no no no, Mackenzie be quiet! It's okay, make me a burger if you want." I try to calm her down, putting my hand on her arm. But that does nothing good, it does the worst. Mackenzie looks up at me and her eyes are just like mine. Pale skin spreads like a rash from the source I touched her at. My jaw practically touches the floor. "M-Mackenzie you look tired! Go get some rest! If Grandma asks, I never touched you." I jumbled my words together, but whatever. "Uhh, okay??" Mackenzie says, and slowly walks away. I panick. "If she got it by touch, how did I get it? I never touched anyone with the infection, ugh. This is so confusing, I'm just gonna go take a shower." I think to myself. I head towards the bathroom to hear the shower just turn off. I see Mackenzie walk out. She looks normal, all of the symptoms were gone. I smiled and walked in and thought, "That's it! I'll shower it off. That has to work!" so I hop in and shower for a long time, about 2 hours and 20 minutes. I get out, hoping to see my honey, yet white skin, and bright blue Grier-like eyes. Nothing. "WHY AM I LIKE THIS!" I scream out. Oops, that was louder than I expected. Whatever, I'll go talk to Grandma, she always cheers me up. "Grandma! I touched Mackenzie and she was like me! But then she got in the shower and washed it off and I tried that but it didn't work! Why won't it work for me? This is getting me so upset Grandma!" I rushed the words out of my mouth in a panic. Grandma sat there, looking uncomfortable. "Grandma, is there something I don't know?" I question her, I know somethings up. "Well..."
