Febuary 28 1994

Whitney picked up the ringing phone off of the coffee table and answered it placing it up to her ear. "Hello."

"Wassuap is this Icy?" Whitney heard a deep voice ring through the phone.

"No, this is her Auntie Whitney who's asking?"

Whitney had a feeling it was Tupac. She recognized that voice from anywhere, and he had called times before looking for Saweetie. The two had been spending a lot of time together every since they got back from New York but Saweetie swore they had nothing going on.

Pictures of them were everywhere in the media claiming that they had a relationship

"Is that Pac?" Saweetie asked coming in the living room scratching her head.

"Yea here you go." Whitney handed over the phone.

She grabbed it putting the phone to her ear "Hello."

"I heard about your EP going Gold. Congratulations."

"Thank you, are you still up there in New York?" She asked him

"Yea but I'll be making my way over there soon."

"Well the Grammys is being held there this year and Snoop wants me to go with him. So I guess when you leave I'll be going."

"It's all good, I'll still get a chance to see you some time next month at the Above the rim release party."

"Yea you right, well I guess I'll get going it's about time for me to pack up my stuff." She told him ending their conversation.

After she got done packing she left to meet up with Snoop and Dre them to get on, again, another flight to New York.

This would be her first time ever attending the Grammys and she hoped that soon she'd be coming to achieve an award.

Both Dre and Snoop has nominations. Dre for best rap solo performance and both of them for Best rap performance by a duo or group.

"How's Shante holding up?" Saweetie looked towards Snoop.

"She been doing good, she'll be dropping in a couple of months." He responded

Shante was Snoop's longtime girlfriend and she was getting ready to have a baby soon. He would've brung her along but since she was so far in her pregnancy she couldn't fly.

"I'm surprised you came on this trip. You then forget about us ever since you started hanging with Tupac." Dre teased.

"She has been spending a whole lot of time with him, hell I jus saw y'all on a magazine."

"Now yall know that's not true and I should be the one surprised. If I can recall y'all went to the AMA's last month with out me and y'all know I love TlC and Whitney " Saweetie looked at Dre.

"You got a point, you got a point." Snoop nodded.

"And I spent a lot of time with y'all too. I don't complain when y'all be at clubs partying with bitches and shit." Saweetie argued.

"Well the bitches we party with don't happen to be worldwide celebrity's, and they definitely don't end up on magazines." Dre chuckled

"I really don't understand why they making a big deal out of it anyway, I only been out with him like 3 or 4 times and every single time we end up in the media some how." Saweetie shook her head.

"Well what you got understand is, in this business people gon try do anything they think gon make them some money and a magazine with both you and Pac on the same page gon sell, and won't matter if y'all just friends." Snoop explained.

"I don't see why you stressed about it anyway. Didn't your album just go Gold? You probably don't got to long before it reach platinum." Dre assured her.

"Yea, and this my last few weeks off before I gotta get back in the studio again so I can work on my actual album."

"Oh yea did you hear about what Suge did?" Snoop said remembering to tell her.

"What?" She asked

"He got you a performance at the first ever Source Awards in April and from what I hear you a natural born performer."

"I mean I did open up for Pac's show last time we were in New York, but uh i think imma need a few dance lessons cause..."

"Shoot we could set you up with a whole choreography. That ain't nothing." Snoop shrugged.

Since they plane arrived late they didn't get a chance to go to the pre-show that was being held today. Instead Saweetie went straight to her hotel room since she really had nothing else to do. She thought about calling Toya but then she remembered just how loud and ratchet she was, but you gotta love her.

Kevin wouldn't be able to come with her to the Grammys this year but he already had her dress ready to go and Saweetie couldn't wait to put it on.

Everything was going fine until the actual day of the Grammys when the hairstylist Suge sent for her bailed.

"Kevin I don't know what to do. Should I go to the store and buy a wig? Something." Saweetie panicked pacing back and forth on the phone with Kevin.

"Icy, calm down for me please. How bout you do that lil high bun hairstyle you like and sleek your edges up nice." Kevin suggested.

"Ok ok imma try that." She calmed down a little bit.

"Hey I can help you with that if you want me to." Saweetie's makeup artist Sarah offered.

At first Saweetie was a little skeptical about it since Sarah was a white woman and her grandma always told her "white people don't know nothing bout no hair", but in the end Lil Sarah actually did pretty good.

"Thank you so much Sarah I'm really diggin' this."

"Mhhh home girl you is all that and a bag of chips." Sarah replies trying to sound cool, I guess.

"Sarah," Saweetie called out.

"Yea."

"Don't say that again." Saweetie said seriously followed by laughter.

Sarah laughed too realizing that did not sound right coming out of her mouth as she thought it would.

After putting on her dress Saweetie was officially Grammys ready and she couldn't wait to see the many stars that would be performing tonight. Especially Whitney Houston.

Saweetie arrived in a limo along with Dr. Dre and Snoop dogg. Suge decided not to come for some odd reason. Once they reached the read carpet everyone pretty much split up and were getting interviewed by different people.

Saweetie didn't think she would be getting interviewed as well because she figured nobody would recognize her in a crowd full of big stars.

After the Red Carpet they all took their seats and the show began.

Whitney Houston performed "I will always love you" and Micheal Jackson was awarded the Legend Award, as he should of.

Unfortunately a group named Digital Planets won Best Rap performance by a duo or group, but Dre won best solo Album so Death Row still had something to celebrate for.

Saweetie later got a chance to meet and take pictures with Toni, Aretha and Janet. All three ladies were nice to her, and Janet even claimed to already know who she was.

In the end, Saweetie still managed to have a wonderful time and couldn't wait to experience more things like this.
