Chapter 11

Diaval

Three years. Three years I have been living like this. A human living with a dryad. When I'm clearly a bird. Although mistress transforms me into forms she needs for that instant. I've been human, a cat, a goat, a cow, an ostrich, and a caribou instead of a raven. Yea! What fun I have? But living eith the dryad named [Y/N] wasn't that bad. She showed me kindness after her "sister" saved my life.

She bathed me, nurtured me back to health, and she gave me a place to live. Her soul and heart were pure, full of kindness, and every inch radiated with love. But where did she get it from? I had heard that her entire species (race? Which one is it?) was hunted to extinction. And only she survived. But she didn't have hatred or harbour an intense need for revenge. Unlike mistress. Instead she forgave and forgot.

But it was still strange. She shouldn't have been friends or family with someone as twisted as mistress. Though I would never tell that to the pair of them. But I knew the only reason [Y/N] stayed around was loyalty. Not fear like the rest of her subjects in the moors.

"Hey, Diaval? What are you doing?" the voice of the dryad broke me out of my thoughts.

'Nothing. Just thinking." I told her.

"About what?" It sounded like her voice was coming from the kitchen.

"Nothing. Don't worry about it." I told her.

"Well, if that's the case, can you bring your lazy doing nothing ass into here to think through pealing these potatoes? I'm making potato salad for dinner." She also has a vulgar mouth.

"Okay. Okay. Okay." I got up from the couch and walked into the kitchen.

And began peeling the patatoes. After awhile of a quiet atmosphere, the girl started to hum a tune quietly to herself. And she was waving a spoon of mayonaise around like a dork. Which the dryad was. And the spoon landed on my cheek. I wiped it away with ny sleece as I listened to her laugh. A beautiful sound indeed. Oh Shit.
