Caught within the monster's grip

I was setting up at our booth with Haru when Legoshi came over and confessed to Haru with a tissue stuffed up his left nostril. "Smooth... Legoshi but hey it's kind of adorable." I watched amused as they walked around as Legoshi tried to confess his feelings and Haru was trying to ignore him.

Later I saw Haru out by the trees near the water and I went over to lean against the tree with her. "Hey Mist... I'm sorry I didn't tell you before about me and Louis, but it's really not going anywhere you see he kind of already has a fiancé. I'm just there to comfort him when he need it you know." I frowned as Haru smiled. "Haru have more respect for yourself you deserve more than just being friends with benefits with him." Haru laughed as she smiled at me. I looked at Haru and she sat down with a sigh then smiled up at me. "I guess you're right, that's actually the first time a girl has ever said that to me but... I don't know Mist I never been this stressed about a boy before." I looked at Haru giving her a small smile. "You mean Legoshi right? Don't worry, just do what your heart wants and take a leap of faith." Haru looked at me with softened eyes. "I guess you're right." Haru smiled at me cheerfully. "I-I think of anyone who win Louis it's you! Don't give up Mist, keeping on fighting to win his heart!" I blushed at her words and went meek. I froze instantly as I heard something coming up fast towards us, in a split second I seen a lion running at Haru. "Haru behind you!" It was too late though one grabbed me and another grabbed Haru. They covered our mouths to keep us from attracting attention. I bit the guy's hand, he let me go for a second giving me a chance to scream. "Doku! Help us please! Doku!" The male lion covered my mouth again but this time more roughly to where I couldn't bite him. "Be quiet you bitch!" The lion hissed at me as I watched Haru struggle. "Shit, we got to move now!" The other male lion hissed holding Haru like a rag doll.

*Doku's Pov*

I was walking around the grounds looking for any sign of Mist or Haru anywhere but I couldn't until I heard a familiar voice. "Louis?" I stood there listening to what they were saying. My body grew angry as he talked. "Why would you tell me something like this?" Louis voice sounded generally mortified at that moment. I sniffed the air and I smelt wildcat, more specifically a lion. "We you have to learn real life situations if you're going to be the next Beastar, so you'll most like encounter Shishigumi with the job. But onto more important matters did you know them?" I froze when I heard the lion say them. "You know the two girls from the gardening club?" I didn't hear Louis speak for a moment. "That's okay." I heard Louis fight to get the first words of his sentence out. "Covering it up won't solve anything! Is there anything we can do?!" I heard footsteps most likely from the lion since they sounded too loud to be Louis's. "Information that everyone hears and sees is crucial to keep under control. So I want you to keep it under wraps for now no matter what the cost might be." My eyes widened as I felt the anger rise up within my body. "By any cost?! Does he mean...?!" I bared my fangs angrily as that damn lion spoke. "I had my fangs removed for implants and before college I spent millions on surgery to achieve a pleasant looking appearance all to become this city's mayor. If the trustworthy image of lions were torn apart the gap between carnivores and herbivores would grow. Besides there's something in it for you, I'll erase your past if you keep this quiet and make sure the festival goes well that is, we have a deal?" I felt my nails dig into my scales as I heard Louis agree to it.

I stood there as Louis came out. He seemed a little taken back and tried to leave but I grabbed his shoulder. "You'd really let them die? Her die?" He struggled against my grip. "I don't know what you're talking about." I exposed my fangs as I kept my grip on him. "Liar, I heard everything and what's funny is that you act cold towards Mist when everyone knows you're in love with her, yet you'd do this! You turn your back on them, especially on Haru when she likes you! You think I'm blind?! But I won't let them them parish, I can't believe you'd throw their lives away for your ego, to erase something that happened in your past!" I watched him turn and try to hit me only for me to catch his punch. "Yeah, you're angry and I don't care. I got my friends to save and trust me, I won't loose her to you or anyone else and trust me Legoshi feels the same way about Haru." I walked away leaving him there dumbfounded as I seen Legoshi walk over.
