A SILLY MISTAKE AND AN UNFORTUNATE ENCOUNTER

While you were not the type of individual that got caught up in someone's title, you couldn't deny how useful it could be.

People would cross the street when they see you coming, store owners would offer discounts because they "felt like it", and people gave you your space on the transit and in crowded places.

All because of a little pair of gloves.

It was so silly when you think about it. It had been cold in the city. Anyone can wear gloves for any reason. Fair, the ones upon your hands were a thick form of polyester with dark blue seams and darker pads along your palms and fingertips, you could understand the idea that they were much too fancy for everyday wear. However it's still plausible that people could wear things similar to mark their high status. Then again wasn't that the very reason you were wearing yours?

To tell everyone you were a part of something...

A part of the mafia....

The very word sent chills through your veins despite initiation being only hours prior. Years of being alone and wondering where your next meal or bed would come from were finally over.

You couldn't believe it, you belonged somewhere.

And what a place to belong! What statement contained more power than "I'm a mobster!"

No one was gonna mess with you ever again, no matter how big or strong they were.

With this all going on in your head, a small skip found its way into your step and a whistling tune escaped your lips.

These thoughts filled your brain so much that the earlier words of your friend didn't stand a chance.

"Y/N where are you going, the assembly is about to begin!" You felt a small hand grab your wrist and you looked up to see a familiar blonde hear of hair and ever-panicked brown eyes.

"What are you talking about Kota, it just ended!" You scoffed and adjusted your new gloves.

"That was the initiation! This is far more important! We have to learn the rules and where our territory ends, and about the other-" You cut him off by raising both your hands up, a little tired of his frantic tone, but more tired of the notion of being in this stuffy room one more minute.

"Don't worry! I'll be back before it starts!" you assured him and slipped your lower half passed the door, leaving him with a wink and grin.

"But Y/N-" But you were already out the door and sprinting down the hall feeling like you were on cloud 9.

Again you mentally scoffed.

"Territory lines... i haven't even gone that far" You said to yourself puffing your chest with pride and raising your chin to make your joyful whistling louder as you didnt care who heard.

No ones gonna mess with this mobster-

Your train of thought halted as your body became aware that your foot had been snagged on something and you were now falling forward. You let out a cry of surprise and outstretched your arms to catch yourself but to no avail. Your chest smacked into the hard concrete and the air was harshly drawn from your lungs. As you sputtered, a voice from the alleyway beside you whispered.

"Whoops..."

You grit your teeth through your coughing. This wasn't the first time some asshole had tripped you or bugged you in a similar fashion. The old you would just get up and walk away...but the old you wasn't a cold-blooded killer, were they?

Gaining strength from the anger in your belly, you lifted yourself onto your forearms and prepared your meanest glare to set this guy straight. But as you turned to look at your opponent, a sight you would never forget and struggled to believe, met your eyes.

Beyond the alley a bright light shone upon three tall forms casting long shadows from them. This is where you forced yourself to blink in disbelief but You were sure of it.

From the figure on the left, with a single shining red eye and devilish grin, the shadow of a dark feline with the same grin and tall spiky fur.

From the right, a strong figure with frilled hair and two deep amber eyes, the wings and horns of an owl spread outward.

From the middle, a figure with two pale teal eyes, stretched the silhouette of a menacing stag with antlers of daggers that seemed to stretch out around you like a cage.

Your eyes stretched in terror and your breath hitched. Your mind swirled so much you barely heard the middle figure speak in an almost sickeningly sweet tone.

"Well look what we have here boys..." It said, the figures flanking him leaned forward and developed even more evil grins of delight and you felt yourself involuntarily gulp.

"....a little trespasser."
