Y/N POV:

I got out of the plane and inhaled the fresh air that was missing the past 8 hours. I sadly smiled and put my sunglasses on, walking towards the exit with my small luggage on my shoulder.

I forgot how great being home feels like.

I went over to the far exit of the airport and over at the taxis, as I waved for one to come at my way. A taxi driver spotted me signaling over to him and pulled over right next to me on the road. I opened the door with a smile and got in, settling the luggage to the spot next to me.

"Where to?" He asked and I took my sunglasses off, straightening my emerald green dress on my knees and unbuttoning my black blazers.

"45 Russel street." I said and laid back on the seat , admiring the view all around me ant taking some time to relax.

I was here, at New York, in order to complete my mission.

Halfheartedly, but I had to complete it. I couldn't be lost again. Not again.

I hope everyone understood.

I opened my bag and took my Walkman out of it, putting a tape in it. As the guitar chords flooded into my ears I smiled sadly.

I was here to kill my love and I hated that.

Some minutes later:

The taxi pulled over next to the sidewalk in front of my house. I quickly payed the driver and got out of the car, looking up at the familiar block of flats.

The Commission had it as an old hitmen hideout, and gave it to me when I entered the Commission. It wouldn't fade into time, it wouldn't be demolished, everything inside would always be the same.

I opened the door and limped inside, hurriedly climbing up the stairs. I opened the door of my apartment and got it, leaving my luggage on the couch and sighed, my face turned up towards the white ceiling.

I went over to the kitchen cupboard and took out my box, leaving it on the kitchen table.

Memories flooded to me, as I remembered the day when I showed the contents of the box at Five. A sad smile formed on my lips, as I opened it. I took a photo out of my blazer pocket and fiddled with it.

It was a picture of Five and me, that a Commission worker had took of us as we were running to the library , some days before the Apocalypse.

I obtained it when I went back at the offices, and stole it from them.

We were looking at each other with smiles on our faces and with hands entwined, as we ran at the side walk.

I swore to myself, that only this picture was enough for me to leave this mission behind and surrender at the arms of my love.

But I couldn't.

I couldn't escape.

I felt a tear strolling down my cheek as I laid the photo on top of the contents in the box and closed it, putting it back into the cupboard. A sob pained my chest, as I didn't let it out.

"I miss you..." I whispered.

How stupid of me to talk to myself when I knew...

He wouldn't listen.

I went over at my luggage and took a note out of it. It was the tasks I had to do before completing my mission.

1. 12/4/61: Umbrella Academy invitational ceremony of formal operation.

2. 13/4/61: Reginald Hargreeves honorable gala.

3. 15/4/61: Meet one of the siblings in private.

4. 17/4/61: Obtain Mr. Five's Apocalypse related files.

5. 20/4/61: Terminate Mr. Hargreeves.

I left out a shaky breath, as the last line of the note would haunt me for many years later, I bet that.

I looked up, preventing my tears from falling down my cheeks, and turned around, heading over to my bedroom. I opened the closet and changed into a formal black dress with laced details on it ( the image on the beginning).

I smiled as I looked myself at the mirror.

It's all for you, my love...
