Chapter Fourteen • Seven

On the flight back to Italy, I was staring at the ring that Massimo gave me. Massimo knelt the ground for. I was sad, actually. I just didn't think. I mean-- yes, I didn't think.

I was running through the trees while thinking if I can just go and throw away the ring Massimo gave me. But I can't there is something telling me that I should hold on to it.

Maybe, just maybe, this was the first time I ever fell in love.

"Are there still beautiful things?" I asked myself constantly while crying.

I feel like darkness is raining on me like a ghost I couldn't see. It's sad.

My phone kept ringing and I just ignored it until I cannot resist it anymore.

I opened my phone and read "7 missed calls from Massimo. Call him back?"

The phone rang right before I click the call button to call him back.

"Hey, where are you?"

"Wouldn't you be mad if I tell you I went away? I was scared, Massimo. I was scared that maybe one kiss, one touch and you'll come running back to her."

"No, please give me a chance to explain."

"I wanted to, but maybe I don't want to hear the same words again."

"It won't. This time, it is true. Believe me. Cross my heart, I hope to die if the words that will escape my mouth are not true."

"Okay, I'm listening."

"Laura, she said she was kidnapped by another mafia. One that I fought because he didn't pay me. It was payback. Laura already has gone with him and chooses him than choosing me. I was okay with that. I finally let her go. Please, stay with me." He explained.

"Should I even believe you?"

"Yes, and you must."

"I can't even recall her face. What does she look like? Oh, I remember she looks pale, her nose is pointed, medium-sized eyes, small lips.."

"I still got love for you." Massimo said out of nowhere.

And somehow, that was everything.
