10 seconds after I realized my life was over...
TAP TAP TAP.
The loud beating against a microphone shook my consciousness as I bumped my head against what I imagined was the side of a cold metal seat, much like the kind you'd see on a prison bus.
"Goooooooood evening, ladies and gentlemen."
An obnoxiously loud voice that I recognized from moments ago spoke loudly, only this time it wasn't directing me to be thrown aboard their rather repulsive excuse for a vehicle.
"My name is Driver, but if it may please you feel free to call me by one of my many nicknames: Mr.Murder, Daddy, Please, oh no! Not in the face! Traitor. The list goes on, blah blah blah. Honestly, whichever of the names works for you. Today I will be your guide no matter what and so with that I please ask that you shut up. Remain within your seat at all times and for the love of everything don't ask questions until prompted to do so."
Coughing and spitting can be heard over the loudspeaker and almost as if a new person took hold of the microphone the driver's voice shifts to that of a little girl.
"Seat belts everyone! Yay! Field trip!"
The hamster in my head was running a hundred miles an hour and about to just give up. I laid still where I had been thrown upon the floor of the roughly moving vessel, too much in disbelief of really everything at the moment to sit up.
Where... am I? What is all of this?
"Now, I've been told by management that my regular voice is too unappealing and frankly scary for newcomers. So for the remainder of this ride, you will enjoy this lovely little voice you're hearing now."
10 minutes after I realized my life was over...
An unnoticed amount of time passed since the last announcement. Part of me wanted to find a more comfortable position for the duration of wherever it was I was going to. While the other half of me was too scared to get up, overwhelmed just purely based on what I had been hearing since I had yet to open my eyes.
"Hey, buddy you alright?"
Somebody spoke to me, a male, who actually sounded pretty normal. A pleasant surprise amongst the chaos I was hearing before, yet, I couldn't get my mouth to form any words to respond.
There was a gentle press upon my shoulder, a finger poking curiously at me. I wondered to myself what I looked like to others as I laid hunched up in the fetal position, being tossed around the floor with each twist and turn.
"Come here, bro. Sit next to me. You got me feeling sorry for you over here, hacky sack boy."
My arms tensed as a handful of my shirt began being tugged at, giving me just enough energy to stagger into a seat while the bus moved at an increasing speed. Still, I remained with my eyes closed, worried I wouldn't be able to handle whatever it is I would see with them open.
"Hey!!"
The manly voice of the driver broke through with a crack before he caught himself and reverted back to the lighthearted little voice of the girl.
"Down in back, please. No wandering from your seats."
Yeah, even though you were the one who threw me there on the floor.
"Bro, are you blind? Because, if so I've never had a blind friend."
The young-sounding man let out a joyous cackle. Judging from the tone of how he spoke I believed he would be around the same age as me, or maybe a little older.
