🍀LOVE, HATE, ABUSE AND REVIVAL🍀
Ken immediately stuck back the fake beards. "Hey aren't you done?" The driver asked them coming inside the restroom.
"I'm done." Sekani said to the driver to stop him from coming any further, the man frowned.
"Then if you're done, let's go." The man said to the boy taking his hands. "Thank you Uncle." Sekani said to Ken as the man took him away.
"It's too late for you Yuvraj, you can't succeed this time around." Ken smiled to himself as he took out the fake moustache from his face.
Soon the court session began, Sekani was sitting beside his father... Twice, Vanessa looked at the boy during the court session, he didn't smile back..
He's finally brainwashed my son, she thought to herself. Sekani isn't mine anymore, he really isn't.
"Your Honor, I think it's pretty irrelevant trying to fight for the boy's custody, especially when both parents aren't really divorced." Ken's lawyer said to the judge.
"Yuvraj hasn't yet signed the divorce papers and by all right, he is still married to Vanessa only that they aren't living together. They're separated but still legally married since it hasn't yet be annulled." Vanessa was surprised. What point is the lawyer driving at?
"Since the divorce process hasn't been legally carried out, I'll suggest the boy stays with his mother till his father is ready to divorce her." He said...
Murmuring began and the judge took note.
"Your Honor, my client had signed the divorce papers and is waiting for Mr Singh to sign them too. Since he hasn't signed them, why fight for custody of the child? It's just like taking a child from his mother for no just cause, I suspect Mr. Singh has an ulterior motive for wanting the boy and still not wanting to grant his wife the divorce." Ken's lawyer said to the court.
"Your Honor," Yuvraj's lawyer stood up in defense. "my client Mr. Singh has no ulterior motives if not getting his family back together. He knows his wife would come back to him if he has the boy and that's why he hasn't signed the divorce papers.. Plus we aren't here for the divorce, we're here for who gets custody of the boy." Yuvraj's lawyer defended him...
"Your Honor, the grounds for divorce are domestic violence and rape. Which woman in her right sense would go back to such a marriage? Mr Singh isn't even remorseful for what he did to his wife, and he's still proud to fight for custody of his son. The son he almost killed while still in his mother's womb, the son he knows absolutely nothing about till a few weeks ago, the son he's using for his own selfish game."
"Objection Your Honor." Mr Callisto said. "Objection overruled." The man sat down fuming with anger.
"My client here Mrs. Vanessa Singh went through a lot in the three months that she was married to Mr Singh, loosing two pregnancies in three moths was more than enough trauma, especially with an abusive racist of a husband.
A marriage she fled from via her mother in-law's help, and you expect her to go back to such marriage? Let's call a spade a spade." The man said to them.
"It would be better if the boy is allowed to choose who to stay with till the divorce process is over. But handing him over to his father, his racist father, is not something advisable to this honorable court." Vanessa's lawyer said and sat down waiting for the judge to decide what next.
"Let the little boy come out and tell us his choice, because it actually does matter a lot." The judge ordered.
Yuvraj's lawyer went to where Sekani was sitting beside his father and took the boy's hand. "Remember what I told you boy." Yuvraj muttered to the boy quietly, only the lawyer and the boy heard it. The boy nodded and was led to the witness stand by the lawyer.
