The only problem with nine people piling into a car meant for, at the absolute most, six, was that there, of course, wasn't enough room for all of them. Nancy and Jonathan, of course, got the front seats, and that left the lucky four—Alina, Lucas, El and Max—to squeeze into the back. Even they looked uncomfortable, pressed against each other, but Gabe, standing there, looking apprehensively at the back of the car, the only room left, knew that this drive would probably be more uncomfortable for him.

Mike, beside him, let out a groan. "Seriously?"

"Welcome to my world," said Will sourly. And then the three of them made their way to the trunk of the car, where they wedged themselves in. It had only been about five seconds, and Gabe's legs had already begun to cramp. He attempted to stretch them out, but only succeeded in kicking Mike in the knee, who retaliated with a blow to the shoulder. Even though he knew Gabe had literally been beaten up.

"Seatbelts," Nancy ordered, and the four in the backseat scrambled to put theirs on. Unfortunately, trunks didn't come with seatbelts, which was worrying for a number of reasons, especially to Gabe, who had a tendency to freak out about everything. So in the event of an accident, which, honestly, wouldn't even be surprising at this point, Will, Gabe and Mike would all be dead. But that should probably be the least of their concerns.

Still, Gabe couldn't help but say, "I'm pretty sure this classifies as child endangerment."

"I'm pretty sure everything we've been through lately classifies as child endangerment," said Mike. "Like, you know, you being thrown into a locker."

"If we die back here—"

"It'll be better than dying by the Mind Flayer," Will sighed. Gabe really couldn't argue with that.

The car sped off to the Holloway house, driving past the speed limit, Gabe reckoned, but he knew there would be no persecution. Crimes were already so beneath them, and besides, they needed to get to the house fast.
