Eventually, an hour after her conversation with Gabe, Alina had finally managed to drop into sleep. Her exhaustion from staying up late on a day filled with action, paired with the tiredness inflicted by her wounds made it so she woke up after all of the others in Hopper's room, which she'd been sharing with the others—she'd slept on the floor, which she didn't mind, and Nancy and Jonathan had taken the bed. With the sun streaming through the window, Alina stretched, blinking groggily in an attempt to remind herself where she was and what was happening. Rubbing sleep out of her eyes, she then swung back the covers and found an outfit lying on the bed for her—her clothes. Her new ones she'd left at Max's. So it was that she pulled on a pink and blue striped shirt and her rainbow skirt, which she secured with a belt.

Lacing up her sneakers, Alina suppressed a yawn and finally tuned into the chatter that was occurring in the living room. She was a little annoyed at not being woken up, but when she took in her wounds—which she hadn't been paying attention to until now—and found that her ribs were screaming at her in pain, her head was pounding, and her knee nearly twice its size, she figured that maybe it had been a good idea to let her sleep.

After finishing the rest of her morning prep—brushing her teeth, running a comb through her tangled bedhead and nearly ripping out a couple of locks—Alina finally burst into the living room, where she found everyone dressed and either standing around or sitting at tables. The only one who was missing was El.

Predictably, Alina went for Lucas first, who was sitting on the couch with a box of Honey Smacks and wearing an outfit that reminded her of the Karate Kid. His bandanna was tied securely around his head, and, when he heard footsteps, he looked up, meeting her gaze, and then looked away sheepishly. He seemed to still have been a little embarrassed about what had happened last night between them.

She sat beside him anyways, swiping a handful of Honey Smacks and cramming them into her mouth. She was starving.

"Morning, Sleeping Beauty," he greeted her, and Alina rolled her eyes. "You were out like a light. How's your... wounds?"
