"Mommy please assure me that I'll visit the Peak rehabilitation center after my SATs,"
"Of course dear, but you have to perform well then,"
"C'mon ma,you know me,I won't let you down,"I gave her my captivating smile and she smiled back showing her ever perfect dimples.
"You're getting late for school, you better hurry shoo,"she handed my backpack and I gave her a peck and ran off.
I found Mr.Frederick,my math teacher in class.
I was used to his early timing anyway, what he never noticed or payed a blind eye to however,is that most of his students never liked his lessons. Some of them even personally disliked him. Honestly,I never understood why,he was among the most funny teachers we had in school.
Maybe math was just it,the all difficult subject that made all it's teachers appear less of interest to students.
"May I come in,Mr.Frederick..??"I asked biting my lower lip out of anxiety.
"Of course Lindie, please have your sit,"
"Am sorry I'm late sir,"
"It's okay,we say man is to error,"he chuckled a bit to himself and I just joined since no one else was paying attention, especially considering the fact that half the class was already asleep.
After lunch we sat for a chemistry paper and it wasn't as bad as I'd expected it to be. I'd performed all those titrations and that just gave me a leeway. After the lessons were over,Tess my best friend accompanied me home. She was always talkative and I enjoyed her company a great deal.
"You've got to loosen up at times,"she always had this pep talk.
"Tess I don't have to change for anyone,"
"Then do it for yourself hon, being all quiet and grumpy ain't doing you any good,"
"As far as am concerned,it hasn't got me any trouble yet,"
"Whatever,"she always ended up in defeat and that always made me feel prouder of myself.
When I reached home,I found my dad resting on his all time couch and I was excited since most of the times he came late due to preoccupation at work.
After I helped my mother with dinner preparations we all sat together as a family and dug in. We talked about our long day as we always did whenever we got the chance to. I was always warmed by this coz it just reminded me how important my family is to me. After all, home was the only place I felt open and safe. My home sweet home.
I retired to bed and drifted to sleep....I saw a man's figure. I couldn't quite get to see his face coz it was covered in a mask. He stood rooted to the ground and seemed to be anticipating something.
"Sweet Lindie...you've grown quite fast,"
"Who are you?"
"That's not important for now, what's important is what is coming..."
"I don't communicate with strangers...."
"Cut the crap, time is not on our side. They're gonna make you loose your purpose. You have to stop them."
"What are you talking about?"
"You've got to focus, and see them deceiving people... they're not who they seem to be..."
"Who are they..?"
"You'll answer that yourself..."I got up quickly to find myself all sweaty. Nothing made sense at the moment. Maybe it was just a dream like any other. I looked at my watch and to my utter dismay it was just 1:00 o'clock. What would I do for the remaining time......
Oops!I just introduced you to my main character. I've tried my best to explain everything about her so I won't have to do it in future. Tell me what you think about it and the dream she just had. Not an interesting chapter but we're in for more right..??
