chapter 2

My mom made an expression when she saw me walking to the kitchen to assist her with breakfast preparations. It was unlikely that I got there before time and already fully prepared for school.
"Morning dear, what's the rush?"
"Morning momma,I just woke up before time and I couldn't find sleep again."
"Anything wrong?"
For a second I thought of telling her about the dream but I knew better. She was always the worry_type and I couldn't risk spoiling her morning.
"Nothing at all, everything's fine,"I gave her a slight smile to assure her.
School was busy that day,I didn't even have a free lesson. At some point I was just glad coz keeping busy meant no time to think of the wierd dream. After the busy day I headed home without a word to anyone.
I kept myself busy with some revision before I retired to bed. I was just eager to visit the rehab center later on that weekend. Yeah,I was so sure I would be going since giving a good grade was always my thing,I just loved my studies. I thought of how my short trip would be. I was super excited. Soon enough my exam would be over later in the week and on Friday the results would be over and perfect weekend would commence.
With all those thoughts,I swayed along with the waves of sleep.

...he was there again. This time round,not alone. A woman dressed in purple was on his opposite side. She was all covered and for a second I wondered why they couldn't reveal themselves. Maybe even the dress codes had some meaning..I thought to myself.
The land around us was utterly bare. The sun overhead was too unbearable. Dry shrubs around,but it still was less of a desert. Dry soot covered the area and it was all just scorched.
This wasn't the place I came to before. There was an impression of.....war.
"It's not too much to ask from you,to make good good judgement,"the woman was first to speak. Her voice was soft and polite.
"What are you talking about?"I gathered all courage to ask.
"Those kingdoms are in much conflict especially now. Our people's fate shall be in your hands. You be your own judge,"the man urged. I wasn't in any position to understand whatever they were saying and even before I got a chance to inquire further, something unlikely happened.
Above us I saw an eagle larger than usual. It's size was scarier than it's extraordinarily sharp claws.
The two strangers pulled out swords and got ready to fight it off. Surprisingly enough,the woman pushed me behind her to keep me safe. Within a spur of a moment the eagle descended and shot up I didn't catch a glimpse of what had happened. It is then that I realised that the woman was profusely bleeding at her neck.
Before I got the chance to register what had happened a large had pulled me....

I quickly got up and switched my bedroom lights on. When I took a look at my mirror,two droplets of dark red fluid were visible on my forehead. I took a closer look and could it be...?I quickly checked myself for any injuries but there were none. Could it be the woman's blood? The thought of it made me afraid. Was she okay?
The nightmare was just terrific. I'd never had nightmares before and now for some reason I understood why people screamt in the middle of the night.
I washed my face and switched my laptop on to watch a cartoon for the rest of the night.

That Friday was when our results were out and I wasn't shocked at all to receive my 'excellent' remarks from all my teachers. Seemed someone was going to the rehab on Saturday!I was so happy and couldn't wait to inform my mother.
When Tess and I walked home I couldn't stop telling her what I would do once I was there. I anticipated to hear of all their stories and gift them.
I tried to bring up the topic of my weird dreams but a part of me disagreed. I had to fight my own battles and not burden the only close people I had.
I decided to find out about them on my own.
